I do see the resemblance, yours look very nice I would like to plant mine in the ground but I’m in zone 7 :unamused:.

Yeah, they’re all over here too. On the outside and inside of the forest, but also all over people’s yards. Zone 9A in FL.

I would feel bad if u done that just to help me figure out the name but I would very much appreciate it if u do.

I got mine as a free gift with one of my cactus plants last year and still do not know what it is other than an agave.

I definitely drive by the nursery constantly and usually stop in at least once a week, so it’s no hassle at all.

here’s a rare one I got at the end of last year, it’s a Tylecodon but I can’t remember which one right off, it had a finger break off during shipping and I recently got it to grow some leafs.

And here a E. Bokei

They’re both agave varieties for sure. I’ll go to the nursery this week and take pics of the plant tags. You can search online if you’d like too.

When you transplant succulents or cacti, do you handle it like any any other transplant? Meaning just lightly rake the outside of the football with my finger tips and drop me in the pot. When I do that, I get like 50:50 success rate of the roots actually spreading from the original root ball, or it just being like a little root ball in a big wick haha. I’ve tried to loosen the root ball way up, and a light root trim and both of those seem to really hurt them haha.

I know u didn’t ask me but I would vote for breaking up the root ball, cactus and succulents can survive weeks to months without their roots depending on the plant.

There’s also a few benefits for doing it too like checking for mealybugs & removing dead roots. Just make sure to wait a good week after breaking any roots before u water them again & I wouldn’t recommend it if the plant is dormant.
