Have a great day everyone…enjoy everything you do
Back atcha bro!
Hello @MoBilly, @JohnnyPotseed, @BigMike55, & the rest of the gang. Had a Good day as I was in Delaware at my friend’s house and we went surf fishing . Here is a picture of a fifty pound drum fishing .
What test line @OhNo555 !?
Not sure the rods belong to my buddy in the picture, but I will ask him. Line did look beefy with steel leaders. We caught a few sharks too.
Man that sounds like and adventure. I’ve gone out in the Gulf to fish but the sea got too rough and the capt turned back. So I have never actually wet a line in the big water.
When i lived in Pensacola, we used to surf fish at Navarre and Ft Walton. Always had good luck. Lots of sharks but you could get into some redfish and pompano a lot too.
It’s on my bucket list guys. One day…
The Big Ugly as we call em.
I went deep sea fishing off the coast of florida when i was like 11 with my dad … that was the coldest morning riding on that ship at 5 a.m.
I caught the guys line next to me… lol
And my dad caught a very very poisonous sea snake…
Made the guys on the boat that worked on it freak out…
And some lady caught like a flounder or tuna or
Something… son of a bitch was absolutely humongous!!! Its eye was the size of about half the size of a baseball…
It was the only time i ever fished the ocean
I don’t blame you!
Lmao!!! Yeah man it wasn’t the fun i thought it would be haha
Good morning brother MO, & all OG!
I booked a trip for my new wife and my younger brothers. The day before the boats came in early due to wind and waves. It was soo rough going out , like the boat was gonna break in half. When we got to the fishing grounds, there were schools of tuna as big as football fields. Dropped the lines , go through and hook 2 or 3 every pass. We got 12 Yellowfin Tuna 55 # average , by 10 am. Then in the long turn we hooked a giant. It was my brothers turn and the line just kept peeling off. The boat was following the fish just to keep some line on the giant reel. About a bit over an hour and it came close enough for the mate to get the leader. It was a Blue Marlin about 4-500 lbs size according to the mate. It took off again to fight until 12:45 when he got the leader again and popped the fish loose. I will dig for pictures when theres a chance. 250 lbs of fresh Tuna steaks, it took us almost 2 years to finish them.
Good morning @MoBilly and friends. I haven’t fished in almost a decade. Fishing and the ocean was been a huge part of my life until my last injury. Aside from just being passionate about fishing since I was a kid, I fished commercially off and on for 30 years. I had tons of gear. Just rediculous.
I mostly fished by myself. Then I was the only A-hole I had to contend with. Besides my dad, my only real fishing buddy was my son-in-law Terry Lee Lamb. RIP.
I better stop now.
