Well I guess covering the greens has paid off.
I said that we don’t waste anything on the place. This is a good example of what we try to do.
This is my temporary duck pen. You can see the little wading pool that we empty every other day.
It’s sitting on a sheet of pond liner and when dumped, it runs down to my bed of greens.
We’ll keep covering them as long as they keep going. The tarp is black on one side so it gathers heat. And with the top and front covered at night the bed should be fine for quite a while.
After the grass and all got knocked down by the cold, the potato bugs decided my greens were too good to ignore. But we don’t put poison on our garden. So we get some with holes in them.
Heading out there now to pick some to put up.
