You don’t worry, I have 10 clone shippers that may have even landed today, and a head full of optimism. All I can do is try. :facepunch:

Circled in red are the three seedlings that went into the earthbox which was already in 12/12–these ones missed the 14/10 mishap. Anyway, it’s pretty obvious to see which one took over and grew to be pretty much the same size as the ones in the soil bed. The Garlic Juice x Sour Bubble—smelling of a sweet body odor, its definitely unique. Also, It’s definitely gonna take a bit longer to finish, but I bet it’ll catch up and finish with or near Soma NYCD—which is the 2-4th pictures.

This one hasn’t really been posted besides a few times and in the whole tent shots. It’s interesting which traits came through in this cross. It’s a cross between two landrace staples in: (Mexican Sativa) x (Afghani).

Leaves and nug structure, definitely more afghani. The short structure, of course also from the fathers side as well.

Now the smell is something that I’ve only smelled in sativas, as well as the plant’s flowering timeline. The NYCD took it’s sweet time getting ready to flower. Even with the 14/10 issue, she didn’t really start packing on weight until the beginning of this past week. It’s definitely going to take longer than all of the other plants in my tent—which is obviously another sativa trait.

I don’t know if the Mom or Dad in this cross is known to receive pollen like absurdly well but this lady was CRAZY receptive lol. I mean within 2 days the calyxes had that stretch mark down the front typical of seeds almost ready to harvest. I didn’t check them because it was only a couple days in even though I wanted to haha so it will be interesting to see their progress.

And the soma was also one of the fastest rooting cuts I took, and i took them in flower to see if they’d be able to deal with that hormonal stress and besides the blueberry faygo, it rooted in a matter of days. The Faygo seemed like overnight it was wild. But after planting the cuts from flower they have to reveg. The blueberry faygo just tossed its first reveg leaf after about 2 weeks in 24/0 with a weak(er) led. The NYCD however revegged in a week and is already on its way to a mother plant!

Day 30 from 12/12, 40 since first change of 18/6 to 14/10 (10 days) then 12/12 since. Confusing but I mention it because I believe a couple of these ladies triggered since that first change.

Sour Diesel Bx4 #7 keeper male, a beautifully structured and LOUD (more of a sharp sour than my lady keeper #3) boy.

Today is about the start of week 2 so around day 13-16 I don’t exactly remember off the top, but he’s starting to stack balls.

I also tested a cut that I put directly into 24/0 light schedule and it didn’t even toss a pistil after 2 weeks so I am hoping that doesn’t change.

Mainly because I’m very excited to collect this pollen and begin working my sour keeper (#3) to f3 and beyond. Attempt to really dial it in to as close as I can get her to the sour I fell in love with back in the day in good old upstate NY.

What’s your method of collecting pollen?

Flower tent is so frosty :+1:

Hey man, thank you first off. Second, I’m going to use a rather passive approach to the pollen collecting.

I went out and bought a new baking sheet (1/2 not full) and laid two pieces of fresh parchment paper on top of the pan with the crease facing upwards—or as if you set an open book down on its spine.

That way when I am ready to collect I can tack it up and slide the pollen into a collection vessel which I’ll then buck down into smaller containers for storage and some immediate use/shipping.

I hope this helps. I’m going with a hands off approach, for the most part. I’m in an apartment and the pollination tent is very close to my flower tent…it’s not in my plans to pollinate my flower tent more than I already have with a brush; because of which, it’s important I keep the pollen grains in one spot if at all possible. AKA, keep a spray bottle of filtered/RO water next to you.

Lol this won’t be the first time I’m collecting in this limited space with flowering plants next door and I was totally fine last time and I was definitely rather reckless about it :joy:

Thanks my friend, I’m trying to keep it simple this run and of course the plants love it haha

Probably one of my top (aesthetic) runs thus far, but we all know it’s the quality of the smoke that will determine that!!

It does :+1: thank you for the response. I’m thinking about trying this soon , nice to know you can get away with the two tents close to each other.

We’re you thinking about switching to larger soil beds/earthboxes? I’m in an apartment lol it can be done! Moving I’m sure will suck ass but what can ya do? Lol I just realized that’s my answer. Worth going through the trouble and having them then missing out on the benefits and not having to deal with the move. Haha I guess I should first ask if you grow in soil?
