No-Till Perma Pot: Aurora Borealis auto . Secret Dragon

Hanging my head above the Secret Dragon, some colas smell very faintly of moist sawdust, others lean more towards hay and floral hints. That’s when I have my nose right up to the buds, still very faint. Every cola smells slightly different.

There’s an underlying heavy sweetness, the first ambers are busting open from the sugarleaves shriveling up. Clocking in at 11 weeks flowering exactly. I will harvest the 4 main colas today and then tie up the rest, maybe lower the light a bit more, give them some extra light, just for a day or so, wake them up a little bit, then raise it again, and let them fatten up some more until harvest at full moon.

I give the two Secret Dragon seeds until full moon to rise, maybe they are waiting for the harvest and then they’ll pop up. We’ll see. So harvest at full moon on the 21st. Two seeds, one love.

The sprout that lost its head died.

Photo’s soon.

NO-TILL BABUSHKA watching over things, blessing us with mighty harvest, we thank you big mother Gaia, for gifting us this magnificent medicine.

^ One of the lower branches.

^ It’s a velcro tie that came with a guitar cable.

With the blurple lighting they look like glamour shots from the 80s and I dig it!

Pink and green is quite the combo, right!

Lots of new bud growth again overnight, this plant loves being cut!

Thinking of harvesting in multiple stages now, cutting off a few inches at a time, keeping the canopy even.

I’m in love with this strain. Never witnessed such strength. I wanna grow its parent strains too. FUCK I wish I could grow these in a greenhouse and inbreed them over several generations, keeping seeds from every generation and after a few generations introduce the seeds from the previous generations, and so on. I guess that would be good practice, so it’s not just the brothers and sisters crossing, but parents and grandparents as well, returning to the gene pool. Outrageous incestual affairs. :upside_down_face:

Another seed popped and also lost its head, but the white stem that is standing is a bit more sturdy than the last one. If it could survive, that would be nice! And if that one isn’t up to it then there’s still another seed that could be male.

Edit: Just woke up and realized I can reveg the Secret Dragon after harvesting, keeping the lower growth, and keep it alive until a suitable male pops up! That’s the intent now.

Paperclips work well as a drying line, you can just slide the small branches in there. :+1:
Trimming was very easy, either the leaves are covered in frost or not, not much inbetween.

^ The top colas I harvested earlier.

^ Topdressed with some grass and the first autumn leaves I gathered on my daily walk.

^ No-Till Babushka approves.

Back to vegging now, let’s see how she does.

Now to choose what to sow for a male to cross her with… Maybe the last of the Secret Dragon seed will show up now that some of the roots are dying back perhaps.

If not, the regular seeds I have are:

  • Zakk Haze (high CBG) x JLO (Juanita la Lagrimosa (medium CBD) x LowRyder2)
  • NL x Orange Grove
  • NL5 x Afghan
  • “Bastard seeds” which might be Lebanese auto’s, not sure… @darkillusion Did you send seeds in empty pens with a little paper that said “bastards”?
EDIT: it was @Indoornesian thanks again!

I’m leaning towards the bastard seeds for the Secret Dragon…

The Zakk Haze I’d like to cross with Aurora Borealis auto.
The NL5 x Afghan I can cross with the NL x Orange Grove.

Will be sowing the new seed in a smaller seperate pot that fits in the container too.

Last night I drank half a liter of tea made with the leaf trim of the Secret Dragon. It felt like pissing the rings of Saturn when I went to the bathroom. Felt like an awesome cosmic task that kept on going seemingly endlessly.

Secret Dragon is trippy shit! Feels similar to acid but much softer and smoother and without the hallucinations. Aquarian energy.

I know about pain in the spine and it felt like my bed was a cloud.

Very hard to get angry or sad. This is perfect medicine for depressed people.
I feel more like myself, more balanced. Balance is what makes love easier, more spontaneous instead of chaotic. Infinity is here to play with us, through us.

No sorry those seeds are not from me.

That’s some frosty bud you grew there! How long will it take for the plant to re-veg for you and begin growing at a normal pace?

No clue, pretty fast probably, it really loved being topped!
I’m guessing one to two weeks for new growth to show up?
Your guess is as good as mine. First time I’m intentionally revegging.

Apparently revegging a Secret Dragon is instant!
One day of revegging and I’m seeing tiny new growth in the middle of the buds, light green and free from trichromes.

^ My little pot for male hunting, dropped a bastard seed and some basil seeds too.

I didn’t even think that was possible that fast! That plant is the Rocky Balboa of cannabis!

You should start playing this for it on a continuous loop

Very curious about the bastard seeds.
Luckily @Indoornesian grows mostly indicas!
Then I can call the cross Rogue Dragon, it all works out.

That’s some true facts! Dying to see the various :fire: Indicas coming from them Bastard Babies.

^ Bastard seed still underground. Two basilicum spawns. Some local purple leaved clover that has yellow flowers that turn into seedpods that pop the seed like a cannonball, they go flying to the other side of the room sometimes. Reminds me of the worms video game… Played that game at LAN parties with my mates back in the teenage years, great fun!
Grew a red beet in this pot that went to seed so that’s good history. Lots of very tiny insects roaming around too.

^ Topdressed with a couple of chopped bananapeelies. Dropping my used mint tea in there too.

^ Secret Dragon buds are definitely transforming into leaves now, after only 2 days.
What a strain! :green_heart: :muscle: Maybe I can keep her alive for a few yearrs this way. When I can manage to grow some seeds from the cross with the bastard I’m gonna keep crossing the sons with her as a mother, to keep the Secret Dragon traits dominant. Very exciting!

I’m in total disbelief that she reveged that fast! I’ve never done it but I’ve read about it a little and have never seen a plant respond in one day. Guess all the hype about Bodhi stuff is deserved!

Absolutely, mad respect for Bodhi!

But I also wanna track down the hero who made this cross and furiously thank them.

I’ve seen nettletops grow back in one day so I thought; let’s see if she can do that too. :upside_down_face:

I would point you to them if I could remember who I got them from. They weren’t on OG and it was quite awhile ago.

I got some Secret Dragon from a guy on Reddit with the username the_dolomite. He sent me seeds of three Bodhi crosses he made. I wonder if its the same guy. It was about 2 years ago. Long before I even knew about Overgrow.

Edit: Just looked it up, and he sent
Secret Dragon
Blood Lotus
Dragon’s Breath

Correction: This is Secret Dragon, not the Aurora Borealis, can’t edit the post anymore.
