Not exactly a advanced technique

Fellow brothrens…due to only having the ac in two rooms hang drying is not a option I’ve decided to experiment with paper bag option

…common ol timers let’s here it

I have a small grow and use leds so I don’t have any ac. Now my harvests are for 4-8 oz so pretty small compared to most here but I use a cardboard box that’s roughy 24”deep 24” wide and 36” tall. I ran some gardening wire through it to hang branches and it already had 2 holes as handles and I put another couple on the bottom of the 2 sides without handles.

I just open up the lid and fan it out once a day for the first week and after that keep a close eye on it as, depending on the season and weather, it can be a few days to another week an a half til it’s ready for jars.

I did some hangers in a box for a day but the cat wouldnt leave the box alone so I decided paper bag room with ac is about 63 degrees right by ac constant and probably 55%humidity I felt some of the buds and the felt almost chilled

What about oven bags?

55 is about right. You’re close enough to the zone that it sounds fine.

I’m just using over sized brown paper bags

I’m bagging right now. Using butcher paper bags from a bread delivery friend of mine.
They were made to hold French bread loaves.

I’ve also used wardrobe boxes from a U-Haul store with good results.

I am using a hydrometer should I take them out of the bag and put them in a jar when it gets to 65% humidity in a brown paper bag sealed up

I’ve used a similar box - large enough to place this tomato cage in.

That ended up being about 1.5 pounds on that cage. I could fit 2 in the box if folded the right way.

I cut out a 4" hole in the top corner of the box and on the bottom part of the opposite side. Then I placed a 4" inline vent fan in the top with dryer ducting to connect the 2 holes on the outside of the box. The constant air circulation ensured the buds would dry no matter what the surrounding RH was (there was no room for an oscillating fan in the box).

Once dry enough, I could properly cure the buds without concern of moisture causing issues. I did this because of one particular strain I grow that’s sooooo damn dense, it could get bud rot while drying in my humid summer climate.

I’ve used paper bags, too - but not with fresh trimmed buds. I used them to cure large amounts. And as I’ve described in another thread, I would line the bottoms of the bags with parchment paper to ensure I could easily collect any trich’s that break off.

I have this neat big pop out hang dryer. It has six layers or drawers for drying. Air dry in a dark closet for a week for me. Then trim, or trim first then dry and then cure in jars with daily burping.

I hate the way when dry enough for jars the buds have stuck to the netting and need pulled off

Just used ours for the first time this last harvest, wife originally got it for walnuts but she never collected em so I ended up with it

I usually do hanging in a dark/darkish area depending on how much I have to hang, otherwise they either hang till the branches snap when bent or snipped off branch into paper bag and let cure/dry till ready to put in jars.

I hang mine from thread in the shower. Fancy heavy duty upholstery thread.

Maintains its own humidity mostly with a little help from a humidifier.

Okay so last night I jarred them up after a 8 day dry woke up this morning jar rh was at 72% I put them back in the paper bag for about 9 hrs .temp is 68.9 rh 58%the environment dried them quicker then I thought…put them back in jars and it’s holding 61 should I not go ahead and do the burping process to hold some of that moisture ?maybe just a quick one everyday !? Input appreciated

Thanks
