I took 2 cuts of each male and each female. One from each was placed in a cup of water. One from each was planted in dirt. First root bumps visible on one female water clone. Obviously I don’t know what the dirt clones are up to yet.
Also have the four seedlings. Three of which are healthy. Fourth might live. Didn’t want to burrow the tap but I buried it and compressed it real tight at the surface and it may have taken, looks better. If all clones take I’ll kill these or just flower them maybe. (The little ones)
They were dipped in clonex, left to sit and soak it up, I guess lol (don’t really know what I’m doing ). Then placed in the water or dirt. Clonex then dissolved into the water. That water has since been replaced a couple times with normal unaltered tap.
Cool, just curious. I upped my clone game when I started cutting off old water bottles as individual clone domes and started actually trimming off 2/3 of each leaf.
I tried that on the last batch of veg clones, doming, they all died on me. I had the same issue when I tried to dome seedlings once. Killed em both. No idea why. I took domes off to let them breathe. This method has worked well for me, especially with early flower plants as opposed to veg. Me thinks flower clones need less humidity than veg clones?
I almost always clone right at the beginning of flower. Interesting though, we all adapt and use what works, right? Never domed a seedling more than 24 hours, so no idea on them lol
I started growing on my own and was doing great. Then I found a different online forum and changed a bunch of stuff to conform my grow. Went to shit. I’m back to doing things my way. My main tent is green and happy.
So eagles009 what are you doing to not screw this up for everybody this time? Glad you asked.
I have added an exhaust fan to the veg tent, fed that into the flower exhaust and sent both up into the attic. Should eliminate temp issue and humidity may actually be too low but we’ll deal with that later if need be.
I am going to put the females into the main flower tent and give them a 2 week, 3 week? head start. Feels like flowering both at same time was a bad idea. Felt like the fems got pollinated so early they had little incentive to bud up. That could be crazy talk but it’s what I felt like I was watching. Never seen plants bud up less and it’s not close. The light leak may have contributed to this?
Light leak has been addressed.
I will give them adequate lighting and maybe some training this time .
Light leaks are a btch I used to leave the closet open at the bottom during the lights off during flowering.
Fcked up, big time.
But at least we have learned from it doesn’t it?
Buds if pollinated early in flower are tend to be small, that is why I do introduced the male in the flower area around the 3rd week so, buds are developed enough.
Also not later than that, otherwise you will ended with thousands of small seeds, some of then not viable.
I have roots starting on a male, water clone as well. (Have to assume the ones in dirt are getting along the same) So, it’s just a matter of time and we will be back up and rolling.
Don’t let it bother you brother. SHIT happens and it happens to the best of us. Adjust, adapt, carry on. Just about the time that you think that you got it figured out, you figure out that you don’t have it figured out. The story of my life. You got this, my friend
Got tired of waiting around so I decided to follow suit and up my game as well. Built this little guy with a little air pump I had laying around. Filled it with jacks 321 and have stems an inch of so from water. Been half a day and I see more action already, and lower on the stem than previously.
I was thinking that. And depending on the root size, the lid may have to be cut up also. Never used a cloner. But have everything there lying around the house! Do you have 2 airlines going in? Bubble stone or just the tube? Love the idea.
