Heeeyyyy… that doesn’t look like microscopy! :thinking::grin:
Fun stuff my guy, amateur mycology was my main source of income for quite a few years in my 20’s. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
So just a full on multi spore scrape into the media? Did you have a glove box or hood?
Are these experiments, or have you done this for a while?
Short captions breed lots of questions! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes::crazy_face:

Damn. That makes me want to get into my prints. But its too cold here. 2 more months and spring will be here.

Looks fun.
Prints tend to be non sterile. So if you have contamination issues you may have to go to agar plates to clean up first.

Pardon me… what was that you were saying Lol

That looks pretty clean. The ones I have made at home are really dirty. I believe in survival of the fittest. 🥸

Great thread. I used to grow mushies myself and got everything here to do it. I hope your grow gives me inspiration to start over again.
I wish you good luck with it. may I ask where you got your print from?
Happy growing, stiffy

I took the photo from a Kit mushroom that was a text-book grow

Everything worked as promised from the kit delivery to the nite of star-watching. And making this spore print

If I remember correctly the cyanescens is mycorrhizal, so might help cannabis grow; win-win!!
Let a few seeds make contact with the spores or spore slurry before sowing and see what happens. :+1:
Soaking seeds in any mycorrhizal spore slurry would probably be a good idea.
A mix of mycorrhizal species, even better!

Liquid culture

Agar medium

Wood chips

Pop corn

Day 9

transplanted a piece of mycelium on Agar medium from Liquid cultured one

put agar medium on wood chips

condensed water or liquid medium always clear if there is no contamination

mycelium grows on wood chips

Hey @Rogue . Are you certain about it being mycorrhizal ? Im not arguing. Im asking.

@goon , did you mix in the pop corn along with the woodchips?
I wasn’t aware that mycelium could grow just like that on wood chips without nutrition (starch).
Didn’t grow any shrooms yet, but curious…:eyes::v:t3::herb:

" The Psilocybe Cyanescens often grows directly on wood logs and trees that has been exposed to the elements. This species is unique because it is one of only a handful that are able to grow outside during all seasons of the year.

The wavy cap can be found growing both indoors and outdoors on composted mulch or rich soil that is either moist or very well drained. It is a mycorrhizal mushroom that grows in a symbiotic relationship with its host plant. It shares nutrients with the host plant in exchange for carbon from the plants roots. "

I believe I remember from Paul Stamets - Mycelium Running book, would take longer to search for it, I highly recommend anyone read the whole thing though! Blew my mind! :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Hello @Rogue , even though P. cyanescens will be mycorrhizal. We must remember that there are two fundamental types of mycorrhizae: Ectomycorrhizae and Arbuscular. In this case mentioned by you, being a basidiomycotus, it will be strictly ectomycorrhizal. Therefore, this type of relationship involves wood-producing plants such as pine, eucalyptus, etc… Therefore, cannabis would not form a mycorrhizal relationship with this specific fungus, but of course it could benefit indirectly from its saprophytic capacity.

Have a blessed week Sir. :evergreen_tree: :mushroom:
