Randar Grows Some Dank

Update on the plants.

Good news: All four are continuing to bulk up and get frostier. All are looking good.

Bad news: It’s looking like the pollinated branches are not taking. Maybe it’s too early to tell. Maybe the pollen was too old or I stored it incorrectly. Either way, it’s a bit of a disappointment.

Yep, but on the plus side, just more seedless bud for me to smoke! That’s the thing about trying to make seeds. If you succeed, you get seeds, if you fail, you’re left with a bunch of top-notch weed to smoke. Win-win!

Well, the ladies were all watered this morning. Increased the nutes slightly so that they are now receiving 6 grams of MegaCrop and 3 grams of Bud Explosion. They should take that no problem. They’re all still frosty and fattening up. Starting to see browning of pistils on some buds. Close up looks at the trichomes show mostly clear with some milky and amber interspersed. Definitely have 2-3 weeks left on these plants.

Not looking forward to the trim jail that awaits me. :upside_down_face:

All, I completely forgot about ending the last giveaway and picking a winner on Friday. Was swamped with work. Will be taking care of that shortly. Sorry for the delay.

Plants are still doing well. Not much swelling in the buds yet, though I still have around 2 weeks left. Watering tomorrow, so stay tuned for some more pictures.

Looking forward to that update!

Still working on getting the update (been busy at work and with life). Hopefully will get some pictures out today.

Noticed some slight foxtailing on one of the Swiss Skunks, but nothing to really worry about.

Buds are slowly bulking up. Entering week 9 of flower. The TnT Trichome and Gorilla Bomb both look to be ready to chop at any time. The Swiss Skunk is getting there, but probably a week left. Going to let them all go for another week and then check. I don’t mind if the TnT and Gorilla are more couch-locky as I’ll end up blending them all anyways eventually.

Plus I really like couch-lock when watching Adventure Time.

Coming to the end of my grow journey this time around. Plants are looking nice. I’m scheduled (and the plants are on track) for a watering tomorrow. Starting week 9 of flower today. Lots of amber and milky. I plan to water tomorrow with no nutes, and then let them go until they’re dry and then chop. Should be chopping this weekend.

Pictures coming tomorrow during the watering session.

Here’s my plan feel free to let me know if it sucks.

I was supposed to water today, but after checking on the status of the trichomes, all plants are ranging from 20% to 50% amber (with the exception of the foxtailing parts). So really nice.

So, my thought is instead of watering, I’ll just let them go for another handful of days, kind of a last minute droughting of the plants to maybe get a last boost of goodness into those buds before I chop. Thinking of maybe letting them go until Thursday or Friday, and then turning the lights off and letting them sit in darkness and drought until Saturday or Sunday when I’ll chop all four.

Bad idea? Good idea? Silliness that will ultimately make no difference?

Edit: Today is day 56 of flower and day 85 overall.

I don’t believe in the extra dark period.

My vote is keep them as happy as possible until chop. They really do a lot of work in the final days.

But, not really a big deal and you can try whatever technique you like :+1:

Canada: non-controversial until the end.

In all seriousness, though, I do appreciate the input. So you’re thinking continue watering and nutes as well? There seems to be quite a lot of evidence to back up controlled droughting…

Maybe I’m just a purist but I find if you grow them healthy and well there’s no need for fancy bullshit techniques like flushing (uh oh now it’s a fight) or extra dark periods or hammering nails into the stalks.

It wants to finish. It doesn’t need sneaky tricks

(More controversial than the last one )
