what have you used successfully to lower the pH for an outdoor grow.
Not in pots, not in beds, just wide open outdoor.
pH is now about 7.8 and I want 6.5.
Have you found a way that is safe for the plants that can lower it that much quickly.
Like I’d love to see that much change in 2 to 3 days if possible.
And is there a place online that sells options for lowering the pH in an outdoor grow, in the ground, in the soil (NOT hydro).
Thank you !!
hope this helps Changing the pH of Your Soil | Home & Garden Information Center chart at the bottom helps with dosage too
Try a water/feed application at a PH of 5.5 and see what the soil is like after a day.
This is just a quick fix and it may not last, but it may be a good place to start.
Good luck

I’ve heard both phosphoric and sulfuric acids can be used for this purpose, but it seems extreme to me to be putting battery acid in my soil (I have one set of problem flower planters that are pretty alkaline). Aluminum sulfate (which is effectively the same as sulfuric acid) seems to fit the bill a bit better, I’m going to look for some of that.
FWIW, I’ve had lots of issues accurately measuring the soil ph. I’ve tried slurries/ph paper and the soil test kit solution and they never agree with each other. Maybe a fancy soil ph probe is in my future, don’t know what the other half will think about that
