Well put buddy, I think the only way it isn’t wasted is eating it lol .
Even then there’s waste , not all goes into system , plus what’s left on utensils etc : )
Damn u got me there, but still, I’d think waste is less with edible consumption… like u said a bong… or joint… all that smoke goes up to the weed gods lol, never to be seen again, lol
With my lungs the way they seem to be getting, this carbon filter etc… seems like something I may do, because I’d like to not suffer to get high haha
You can wake and bake with a bong if it has filter , with no fear
Impossible without lol
Wow I’m definitely getting 1 then
Lol correction … it’s possible. But you’ll feel like you’ve been hit with military issue mustard gas haha… last time I hit some dabs hard I totally thought I may possibly die lmao, coughed for so frigging long I almost threw up … but I was really high lol
Plus the satisfaction of clearing that bong like an 18 year old , oh yeah , like the fountain of youth : )
Damn man now I’m getting extremely jealous @ifish… you dog!!
The only thing to concider is bowl hight rises
So a drop down might be needed depending on bong and how you like to look at bowl : )
I don’t think it would be good for dabbin as there’s no plant material being burnt in a dab kind off @Terpsnpurps
Yup those were my thoughts too looking into it. I’d like to use my replica Toro bubbler more, but I’m reminded why I roll once I light the bowl the 3rd time and a dirty resin hit gets pulled…I’m like nope! Don’t get dirty hits rolling. Now if this filter stops that I would think it’s a godsend, but if a fairly heavy smoker has to reorder carbon constantly I’d think it would get expensive. Out of every question published on the site, they don’t give like a table of usage for the carbon equivalent to weight consumed. To me this is important. Economical for the light and casual toker, but could be cost prohibitive for the 2-3 gram or more per day chimney smoker. I’d definitely like feedback on heavy use replacing carbon, how long the fill lasts before replacing and when it runs out it to reorder the carbon. Example, the $100 bag, will that average to a year of refills ? If not, the cost to keep carbon to fill would be high if that bag needs to be reordered several times or more.
No they have em for dabs too… the carbon filtered dab pipes
Some people buy carbon refill bags from aquatics stores
I have also considered repurposing the carbon in a used tent carbon filter as it’s only controlled smell and could still maybe be used
You have a toro bong lol I’m sure you can afford a 40 dollar filter and report back to us your review , would love to here @OriginalDankmaster96
It’s still plant material, it’s just refined into an oil, (I get it the actual plant material is the trash after making oil) I’d go with flower and bongs if I got something though, dabs don’t seem to have the same full effect flower does in my opinion… same with vapes and anything but flower and edible… I’m stoked to try this
Oh the filter isn’t the issue. Seriously ? But it states don’t use pet store carbon or is that “their disclaimer” so one would buy their “special made” carbon ?
That’s interesting as well, I wonder if there isn’t a special purifying process that’s an extra step for inhalation use over pet store use
From what I read, yes it’s purified and safe from pet store. I don’t get the impression you can use normal charcoal.
Long time chronic bong/pipe smoker here. Switched to a dry herb vape (crafty) when I developed a wet cough that wouldn’t clear, wheezing at night, etc. That was 7 years ago.
At first I really didn’t like it at all. It took forever to get high (instead of the quick hit off the pipe), it didn’t taste like anything, and there was all the trouble of keeping it charged.
However it did have the benefit of being stealthier and not stinking up the place, which was useful because I traveled a lot and it was liberating to get high in a hotel or van situation where I wouldn’t have felt good about smoking due to smell.
Fast forward, now I feel completely differently. Smoking is over too quick, vaping lets me really enjoy consuming. I get higher with the vape than I did with the bong, leading me to reduce my consumption. And there’s no stinky pipe or bong cleanup. Vape cleanup is easy, less frequent, and doesn’t stink like ass.
Now when I switch back to a bong or pipe it’s like licking an asphalt road, it just tastes terrible to me now. Instead now that my sense of smell is more attuned I greatly prefer the perfumes I get from the vape to the fug of pipe smoke in my nostrils.
Oh yeah, my lungs are categorically healthier now and I no longer get seasonal chest colds like I used to (much less frequent & shorter duration).
So yeah for me there’s no going back now, but it was a process, not an event. I do think a lot of it comes down to being patient and learning how to properly utilize the vape (how you take hits, how you control temp, etc).
Oh I was referring more to the vape like the carts with the liquid
I’ve never vaped any mystery liquid.
