@mota I think the cotton is more for pipes that have no water in them as protection from inhaling carbon particles

You have one of those herbirons? How well do they work?
And how do you use one? I mean I can think of a few ways but how does it work best to your liking and what is your liking?
Wiggle it around between the bud bits? Hold it right above the bowl?
I hover just above the bowl for 1/3 of pull then I touch the contents lightly once and fill the rest of the can , no wiggle required : )

Everyone is used to the tastes of butane , you don’t realise until you use a herbiron for a month and then you realise the tastes of butane is / was always there you just didn’t no better
I light everything with it unless I’m outside
There was a battery version by a different brand but at the time it was way to expensive , I should relook into it as it may be cheaper now as that was many moons ago

In that case, you might be interested in a plasma weatherproof lighter for outside use. Charge via USB port, and they even have crossed plasma lighters so you have a bigger area to light a fat joint with.

Yeah I’ve been debating wether it’s worth it getting one or not cause I doubt they’d be any good for getting bongs properly lit…
So if I understand it right the herbiron vaporizes weed, right?

I vape the first couple of seconds and then while still pullin I touch the top and torch the rest

I use a Dynavap M, and love it.
It’s simple, low-tech, conserves weed, replacement parts are readily available, and it’s easier on the lungs than joints or a bong (for me, anyway), and the flavors of the weed really come through better.
I will still have joint every now and again. But, my bong hardly ever gets used. It just irritates my lungs way too much.

I definitely believe you about the taste of butane though I can’t say I’ve tasted it myself. I do taste the difference between lighting with a match or a lighter, but the match isn’t better, it’s worse even when you light it too soon cause then you still have sulphur taste in there.
I love my dynavaps too but what I hate about them is when I hit that stoned point, I often forget to listen carefully for the click, and when you take a pull from a too hot dynavap the taste has totally gone to shit and the thing needs a complete cleaning before you can use it again to satisfaction.
My bong gets used a lot but some strains really rape my lungs nowadays. Those are usually the best strains though.

Anyone else take out the condenser tubes from their dynavaps? I can’t use them with condenser, too much resistance gives me instant anxiety issues for some reason. I use the fat mouthpiece to keep gunk out mostly (the black rubbery one from dynavap) and on my most used one I have the holes closed off by a piece of clear electrical shrinking sock material that leaves just enough airflow for comfort.
you can use the volcano with a bong. get a 14mm recycler for the solid valve or get the gong attachment for the easy valve. it works well.

I have one of Dynavap’s units for use with glassware too and I must say it works even better than a dynavap unit on it’s own. Largely due to my tendency for anxiety with too much resistance probably, it is much more satisfactory because the bong allows you to suck with greater power.
I got 2 of my dynavap’s as Bday gifts. Some of the best Bday gifts I ever had.
The DAbOX from Vivant was once one of my most used dab equipment. Nowadays it only sees the light of day when I’m going out and I have extracts available but there was a time when I pressed the larger part of my homegrown. They adapted the silicone screens at some point and the newer screens didn’t work for shit so now it’s just the glass tube without the screen but it works equally well as before. The glass gets gunked up some more though, but that’s nothing an alcohol rinse won’t fix.

I vape oil. Cartridges here are abundant and affordable. I’m picking up a new cart today. 1g Original Glue Live Resin Cart - NW Kind. Vaping doesn’t fuck with my allergies like smoking flower does.

All this talk about vaping has led me to put my bowl and downstem aside and replace it with another downstem and my dynaVap-on-Glass unit.
I really dislike the look of the new VonG. My old one, shown as new below, looked less impressive, more natural, when I first got it, but the wood ages so nicely and it really works exceptionally well with the kind of flamey design they went with for the middle piece. The new hydravong looks kinda ugly and has way too much metal for my liking.

Come to think of it, I gotta check something out, I’ll get back to you if I find it cause it might be an interesting thing if it is what I’m thinking of.
Here it is: how interesting would these be as a portable on-the-go option instead of the herbiron? Main thing I dislike about the herbiron is that it’s a cabled device, while I often take my glassware different places around my property and power is not always easily available.
