Sprouts In The Ground

Quick questions guys…i sprouted some seeds 3 of 4 sprouted in the paper towel method…i got neglectful and they stayed in there for about a week. They developed nice long white roots. So today i went outside and planted them into a 5 gallon bucket so i can bring them inside before the frost. kinda late to be going into the ground up north. So my question is i buried them under a nice line layer of soil. Everything…should i have left the green tips above ground or will they push towards the light?? Ive never done it this way i normally just go straight to soil with the seeds. I really just wanted to see germ rates and now i cant let them die I’d feel bad if i did. So the question is should i have left the green tips above the ground or are they fine under a thin layer of soil…everything is under ground. I know time will tell just wondering what you think based on experience? Oh i opened the paper towel up and laid it down open and covered it lightly

I like the paper towel method.
I leave mine in until the cotyledon has popped the shell.
This way you can take to the bank how many came up and will roll.

I know some who leave them in water till they burst.
There’s another method, that is start in a paper towel wet them down and very neatly into a zippies bag.
Pin baggie to a door or a wall and the roots will grow as straight straight down.

Roots always grow down first.
Gravity or magnetic pull

Plants are amazing things! I can’t say for certain with cannabis, but most plants will find their way to the surface if not planted too deep. In general gardening if you can’t find the crown of a plant for example it can be planted sideways under the soil and will usually work it’s way to the surface properly. I wouldn’t worry too much. Hope this helps.

I would have left the tops sticking up as they were ready to process light and start the ball rolling.

See if you can carefully expose them. Don’t move the root tho as it probably has hairs growing into the soil already.

Good luck!

Forgetting about them happens to us all… must be something in the air.

They will fine where they are. It is Gravity that controls the growth, they grow up and find light.
Before they can do that, the root has to be firmly anchored. That just takes a bit of time.
