They have no choice, before adding that second line there would be days where the line was longer then a football field.
As far as the STS goes, that was my plan from the start. I only want the pollen from the cherry brandys and the OKC is just bonus…I have had a few ppl PM me about doing it to pollinate my last OKC seed for a seed run.
Being that I live in OKC (Oklahoma City), it would be cool to grow OKC in OKC. I would jump at a chance for those beans. Plus the plant looks phenomenal.
Just had a slight bit of bad luck happen. Just went to get my stock STS solution out of the fridge so I could get my spray bottle filled up to start spraying my cherry brandys later today. What do I find…spoiled STS solution with fuzzy clumps floating in it. So that just got tossed, now I need to get more and fast. Really should have checked this long ago, that stock I made at the start of the year for my Blueberry auto.
I don’t know much about STS in but silver in general is supposed to be pretty resistant to mold and bacterial growth as far as I know. I didn’t even know that was possible but that sucks.
Hey everyone, time for an update.
The OKC is looking very nice, I am starting to see why the yield on this strain is listed as Yuge. She is short with cola`s forming everywhere. Best of all OKC seems to be a very easy strain to grow, I have only given it water and some light nutes over the last 3 weeks. The OKC clone is still alive and has begun to have new growth start forming. The Cherry Brandy autos unlike the OKC are being temperamental with me. Both are getting Cal-mag already and one is showing the start of a nitrogen deficiency. Luckily I just started a 3 week vacation so I have time to spend on these two. I am still waiting on more STS chemicals to arrive by the time I get it, it will be to late to really spray the Cherry Brandys. So I will be hoping one of the two turns out to be male.
OKC
Just got my STS chemicals in about 12 hours ago and give both Cherry Brandys a good spray down. Started a few days later then I wanted, but it came faster then I was expecting which is fine with me. If they would have showed up say on Monday I probably might not have even bothered.
Update time…
The OKC is looking really good, has buds forming everywhere and then some. It is now 4 weeks since I flipped to flowering and 2 weeks since I started to consider her in flowering. With a 8-10 week flowering time I am expecting at the latest to be cutting her down right around Christmas. As for the OKC clone, it has been 3 weeks now and it is still alive. I was hoping to see more growth but hey it is still alive and that works for me. I did add in more soil into the solo cup to bury more of the stem and give it more area to form more roots. The Cherry Brandy autos are growing nicely, been spraying them both very heavily with STS to make up for the late start. Both plants have yet to show there sex but I am going to guess I have 1 male and 1 female (left and right respectively in the pic) . The one I think will be a male is growing in more of a vertical fashion while the one that I think will be a female is spreading out more like a bush.
Cherry Brandy auto
I never know whether to consider flip the beginning of flower or when I start seeing it physically. You can ask ten people and get at least 3 opinions on it too - the change has occurred with the light change regardless of what’s visible, if you can’t see it it there’s no reason to start counting, etc.
I just figured the flip to 12/12 is the only consistent date to measure from. Than there are autos. Is it the date they hit soil or when you see pistils
Can not say that any better. I give my plants 2 weeks after flip before I consider then in flowering for three reasons.
Not counting autos, when you flip to 12/12 or 11/13 the plant will take a few days before it goes " O snap its time to flower". Some strains do this faster then others.
When I first started growing I would start the clock as soon as I would flip to flowering and I was always wondering to myself why is this strain taking longer then it is listed to be ready by on average of 10-14 days.
Personally when I see pistils I consider the plant in pre-flowering, once I see the start of cola formation do I think of the plant in flowering.
But that is just me, the final decision on if a plant is ready goes to what my good eye can see under a loupe. I just use the flowering time to give me a general idea of when the plant(s) are ready.
I have a third option. When they germ and I see tails. But its only a day or two till they hit soil then For me though, start of growth on an auto is when that tail starts growing.
For photos, I like using the flip date, and noting flowering. Because you can see how long it will take to start flowering from the flip. If you start from flowering, you miss a little data. The Spirit Train in my photo tent is a perfect example. I flipped the whole tent, and from the first plant flowering to the last to start, its about 10 days. ST went right to producing pistils within 3 days, Alaskan Purples took about 7… The BC Pinewarp were closer to 10. Flipped on the same day.
I just want a consistent time to work with, considering I’ll be making seeds / plants for me mostly, I wanna know their nuances. No need for me to “fool myself” with shorter flower times because of choosing dates that reflect that. Accurate times is more important than that fake feeling of “they’ll only take 8 weeks” when its still 11 weeks…
I start three countdowns. From germination, from flip, and from flowering…
Just a quick update…
Just finished trimming both Cherry Brandy autos and I saw this on the one Cherry Brandy that I think is a male. Tell me what you think.
