In the morning, we chop russets into french fries and soak them. We cook them in a kettle of boiling water for around 10-15 minutes. We squeeze the water out. Then we apply avocado oil on the bottom of a sheet pan and pan-fried the [french fries](https://www.hellofresh.ca/recipes/potato?locale=en-CA) in a 400 F oven for 20 minutes. We turn the french fries and cook them for another 20 minutes.

The “no salt fries” customers ruined fries. In their gambit to get fries slightly hotter they fucked everyone else. Many fast foods joints barely salt them at all now to dodge these cretins.

My tinfoil conspiracy theory is also that they started using lower temps in frying oil (to save money between replacement of the frying oil) made the fries slightly less crispy and greasier.

Of course the realities of fast food business means the 16 year old kid running the store practically by himself for $9/hr is a bad recipe for quality food to begin with.

Crinkle cut are all uniformly trash…yeah I said it. So are potato wedges.

Shoestring style are dope but they lose heat immediately. Curly fries are the only reason to ever walk into an Arby’s.

McDonald’s fries, when hot and well salted, are sublime. Everything else is secondary.

Are these the taco bell fries?

The ones here still put on a ton of salt. Especially McDonalds.
Only thing I like at McD’s.
There smoothies are alright.

I like McDonald’s food. Food scientists spent a lot of time making it taste good. It’s just that it’s now as expensive as an actual cheap restaurant. I’d rather just get cheap mexican food or a burger from a local joint, at the current price point.

When I was younger I used to crush those $1 double cheeseburgers and $0.69 sweet teas like it was my job.

I live beside a McDonald’s. Every time I walk the dog I smell fries. I don’t eat them anymore. I’m saturated by them.

I will get a McDouble and a jr chicken extra sauce though.
