Being a Subaru driver, you can’t ride with me either Bro.

Lmao I know , it’s funny I thought of you and my old man too while sitting on that curb waiting. I was like there’s no way it’s that easy to steal a new Subaru, but I guess they can really steal anything nowadays with all the technology :man_shrugging:t2: unfortunately it’s also made many things much more easily accessible :man_facepalming:t2:

Car manufacturers have built in security flaws that allow anyone to steal the car. They are starting to take responsibility though.

Holy shite! That’s kind of what I figured but damn. Give me a 64 impala SS and a club, I’m good. Even the magnum doesn’t even have a fob either. Gone in 20 seconds ! :confounded:

…Helps to have a manual transmission too. Lots of people can’t drive 'em.

I’ve got an “antique” sports car with a five-speed and a custom-installed hidden fuel cutoff switch. Nobody’s going to be driving that one away. If they come with a wrecker/tow truck, it’s a different story.

My 71 Pontiac has a quick release steering wheel that pops off with the turn of a lever. You can lock the steering column with a key and nobody is driving it. Cost 125 bucks and worth the peace of mind.

Good morning @TopShelfTrees1 and the rest of the peeps here.

That hidden fuel shutoff is key.
We have 2 redundant battery shutoffs on our telehandler at work.

My daughter had her Kia broke into about a year ago.
They tried to steal the car by tearing into the ignition, but were unsuccessful.
It tooks months for her to get her car working again, because of parts scarcity - high demand on the new improved anti theft version of whatever they were trying to override.

I was actually talking about the shut off idea with a friend yesterday when we were discussing this, it’s crazy it’s that simple, I remember when I was younger it was known that the glow ring dodges literally could be started with a screwdriver, jump in , pop the glow ring and turn the ignition. I broke my key in the ignition of my grand caravan years ago and did it, worked like a champ . You figure by now they would have anti-theft down …… soooo far from it though :man_facepalming:t2:

Even out there huh? I really thought car thefts were a thing of the past, lol guess I was way off

All those fancy new cars with electronic keys can be hacked in under 30 seconds… just need to intercept the signal when owner starts his car with a 100$ gadget and copy a new key eh

I’m not sure if you meant this for me?
I’ll go ahead and elaborate just incase.
She lives in Skankorage and they definately have a crime problem there.
It’s mostly theft - cabin breakins, out here in the sticks where I live.
