I’ve done Kiewet a few times.
I’ve also worked for PCL out of Canada. They are similarly sized companies and have the same safety culture.
I really wanted to go work for Bechtel at the Intel plant in New Albany Ohio last winter, but I decided to stay home and grow weed.

Brother from another local.
You ever make it down to Vegas for some l leadership training and R&R?
All expenses paid and they give you a stipend to complete.
I’m not familiar with red seal carpenter?
You the man @TopShelfTrees1
no was promised a few times go salt this out fit we will send you never happened yet red seal same exam just raised the passing score to 80% in order to work in different provinces you had to have inter provincial ticket as the building code changes in all they did away with that and raised the pass score
Sounds like Canada gets more involved with the movement of workers from province to province than we do in the states.
I have OSHA 30 training and OSHA is the gold standard except in California, the bar is set higher, but it’s all in the book to find, if you are unfortunate enough to find yourself working there.
I’ve worked in some high climbing work before but nothing like what you guys are posting. Wish I still had pics but I don’t. I worked at the Phillips 66 refinery in Woodriver, IL for about a year and they would have us climbing towers and sniffing gas lines for leaks. Tallest I’ve ever been was 200 ft up on the biggest tank we had nicknamed big Bertha. That job was wild I ended up leaving there because they wanted you climbing all these ladders with cages built in but no fall gear. In the middle of winter icy ladder rongs and your told tuff luck get your job done. You weren’t allowed to wimp out unless we have a lightning warning but shoot most the times we’d be working in the rain too. I was a sub contractor thru the refinery thru guardian. Shitty company and shitty job. Glad I didn’t stay there but man those actual operators who ran the pipes and just sat behind desk had the life! The guys would be ALLOWED to sleep on the clock so they could be alert in a real life dangerous situation and I was warned when I got the job from the head of the company like don’t wake any of these guys up. Floored me but they are making $30 plus an hour to just chill it was interesting
true if you do not have a Quebec address you can not work in there they can and do work all over
I’ve heard that the NYC area is the same.
I’m finishing this movie with paul walker from last night
I really liked how this Russian gangster shit step-dad redeemed himself. The Duke was his idol, and he always hated that John Wayne died in the Cowboys. But at the end, he stood tall like The Duke and told the gangsters to fuck off and walked away.
It was insane too, cause he got shot right in John Wayne’s eyes, with the tattoo on his back and all.
I’ll never forget the time we all got in trouble from corporate because one guys sniffer ignitor went out and when that happened the quick fix was taking the unit apart and lighting the ignitor with a lighter by hand. Well we had big wigs down and this guy calls asking for a lighter and another guy says I got one but im 60 ft up come to the bottom of the vessel and ill drop it. Then you hear radio silence follow by a did you catch it? Later that day we had an emergency meeting and were informed never to say anything like that over the radios again that our jobs are at risk. I mean when you think about it tho probably shouldn’t be lighting an ignitor in the middle of the oil refinery in a non smoking area lmfao
I’ve done some construction on petro sites and it’s a huge pain in the ass.
FRP is expensive and the coveralls they supply get hot
funny you say that a company that is from Windsor PCR got the contract to supply pre cast to the 911 memorial big shots had a condo there asked a couple of us foreman if we would like to go for a weekend HELL yes 3 of us lasted a couple hours as we came in work clothes you know going to have a good close look at things before we made it thru the gate we got run job Stewarts did not recognize us asked a couple ? got the famous fuckoutofhere we were on a plane next morning owners did not want troubles with the halls had a nice supper that’s all i saw they kept us hidden.
Watching A Bronx Tale now
Had no idea it was an one man play at first!
Seems like growing up in the area was a lot of it for these guys
Either you make it. Or you dont
