TopShelfs trees (Part 4)

We do a cook it yourself food box. It always has added fat and added sugar and salt but you can omit them. It can be as healthy as you want it to be.

It’s only a few days a week but we get the 4 portion ones for lunch leftovers.

It’s not significantly more expensive than grocery shopping but I like to think of it in terms of waste. How much of that head of lettuce is going to go bad in the fridge before you use it?

They’re usually pretty good, but you must pick and choose because there’s cheap shit in there too.

But overall, the box is a winner.

I’m still out of likes. I was never diagnosed. My son was and it was similar he hated being a zombie so we pulled him off the meds. Now he’s 22 and on the meds again. It’s amazing how much it helps him. I on the other hand have a job that is almost always something different and anytime I am in the shop for 5 days in a row I start scheming how to change careers to end the boredom.

The only issue with my job is I can’t smoke in the mornings, except on weekends.

I know this is probably controversial to some a little bit, but I think sometimes they medicate kids a bit too young with mind altering things whether for ADHD or other issues

Often prescribed way before their brains are really fully developed, more should go into teaching kids, parents, families with those kind of issues good coping skills and techniques to get through homework school chores or whatever needs to get done I know attention and focus are hard with ADHD. My Step daughter has ADHD and is in her first year of college without meds, so far so good…

I am on the autism spectrum, but slipped through the cracks as a child and didn’t get diagnosed til much later

I always wonder if I got the proper therapy and such how much easier life could be at times, but I was very lucky my parents always did their best, and never gave up on me!

That’s very interesting, I’m glad it is.
If smoking in the am is the only minus I’d say you are doing okay  probably helps keep your tolerance level down too.

Ok, you got me. I’m gonna try it, I have coupons on my fridge, might as well. I’ve only tried one, definitely not a fair shot. Thank you :pray:t3:

I agree, no question. How often are we hurting kids but just pumping them full of stuff, I remember my buddies daughter getting her teeth fixed, they gave her oxys, a 12 year old girl on OxyContin no joke, my other buddy’s son is on Ativan and he’s 12-13 also, it’s crazy. I also know several using Xanax too. I get anxiety but these kids on these HEAVY sedatives or painkillers is absurd to me. And another reason the world is becoming the way it is, got a problem, Medicate! We got a pill for that !

So true, I’m learning these days medicine has genuinely become mostly a business, emergency stuff will always be needed kind of thing, but I’m against most pharmaceuticals unless they are genuinely needed things like penicillin or insulin which save lives and make people able to function.

But some of these other things they are pumping out are questionable and how often they prescribe them to children who don’t fully understand the ramifications of taking things like that yet is sad…

My son had his eye removed and didn’t need that stuff, how does a kid getting a tooth pulled or dental work need it , crazy.

I have enough OCD to keep my ADHD in check… usually…

This is probably EXACTLY why I don’t ever notice mine nor haven’t in decades.

My coworker has ADHD, no OCD. If she misses her meds she has a very off day.

Just for the sake of example:

See, when you said that it made sense. I don’t have OCD like my mom but I’ve definitely got it, just not overwhelmingly so. I bet it totally just negates the adhd…. It’s actually very interesting

Now that I could eat. Which one is it you use @Foreigner fresh food?

Chefs plate.

But seriously you must choose proactively or they will send you the cheapest one for themselves.

Co-occurring disorders and brain chemistry is crazy, I often think we are barely touching the tip of the iceberg with knowledge about things like that

Whether you’re talking how meds treat certain things, or certain disorders even occur, whether genetically or environmentally it’s crazy!

But I definitely understand. Some people with ADHD genuinely cannot function without their meds, just some people are given them too young in my opinion

Ahh ok, so you go through and pick each meal individually ? I’m gonna go through them with the wife tonight.

Yes correct. They will choose for you and then you cancel their choices and make your own.

Sometimes it annoys me me because “I don’t need instructions to make a fucking stir fry goddamnit” but it’s good.

lol I feel you on that. I could use some infusion in our meals anyway. The same stuff gets old in time , especially me as I’m pretty weird about certain foods. I definitely will give it a try. Can’t hurt, it’s not more than going out grocery shopping and I like the idea of the stuff already being portioned etc. but you can still add or negate things as you see fit, I’m glad I found someone who utilizes them . Literally changed my thoughts
