I am looking for the answer as to when to move plants from indoor under 18/6 , to outdoors. I am concerned with them starting to flower and then re vegging.
Our daylight hours here are currently 13.5 hours, and we max out at the solstice with only 14.5 hours.
Anyone with experience in going inside to out what is a safe bet?
I cannot drop my indoor plants back slowly in the grow as the plants that are going out are sharing space with my indoor perpetual stuff.
Thanks
We had some girls that we set out about this time last year, they finished late June early July, they were shorter flowers varieties, mostly BOG cuts. I’m in NEOK.
Gradually reduce the light to 14 hours, one hour less every day, then release them.
I doubt half an hour or an hour difference is gonna make them veg again.
If it does go wrong then consider using auto’s in the future.
I really didn’t want to reduce the light schedule as I said, due to them sharing space in the veg room for my perpetual. May be the best option at this point though.
If it goes wrong, I will stick with photos. I will never grow autos again. Not worth my time.
Then just throw them outside, if they start vegging again so what? They’ll eventually start flowering again. It’ll look weird but it’s the potency that counts.
That happened to me this year, I planted too early one started flowering, I culled it, now the other is doing the same, I think a couple of days in bad weather can trigger flowering too, they were big, if they are still small is ok.
Why waste a perfectly fine plant?
I had this experience with some clones, I put them in my greenhouse and they started flowering, re-vegged then flowered again. I’m looking for supplement lighting tht would be safe in my" less than stellar "greenhouse. I built it myself and it’s not exactly water tight? I might find a cord with a ground fault breaker maybe?
I usually put mine out on May 14th, but I got a late start this year, so it’s gonna be June 1.
May 15th is what I was shooting for. No issues with early flowering on broad leafed varieties?
I had a photo under 18/6 for 3 weeks, indoors.
Put her out last week and she’s flowering.
I’m planning on her re-vegging and getting big.
SW OK
All those hormonal switches in a plant causes alot of loss on both yield and quality. That is why I am trying to avoid that.
I am just going to shoot for May 15th. I may or may not start dropping the daylight hours in veg by 15 minutes a day until I get there. I will have to sleep on it.
As long as you wait until may 15th your plants will be fine going from 16-17 hours light to outdoors. I’ve done it for years. If you are not in full sun all day wait another week or 2 and you should never have a problem
Will June 15th work or will that be to late
I have put out regular plants as late as July first and was shocked at how well they did. I try to get mine all in by June 1st but always have some I put out later.
