GF says that Korin smells like cocoa and asks after me when I am away. She doesn’t touch them because they’re itchy. Bloody damn right they are.

ROFL… what the actual fuck… Seriously it’s shit like this that is the reason I only bother with OG. It’s a free country, and in all my long years of being a stoner/grower I have never heard of ‘etiquette’ on how you do whatever you want with pollen. I’d be telling them to sit on it and rotate…

Are the seeds produced by hermaphroditic self pollination always female?

Yep, and you don’t want to be dealing with that shit, trust me

I remember throwing the boys in a trailer and taking them down the dump with the mad uncles to get rid of them. The joy of living free hey? lmao

This is Cora2. Korin’s clone from before they transitioned. She shows no sign of balls, nanners, or boy flowers (yet.)

I am thinking (so far) that Korin was stress hermed and that their genetics are not definitively discardable. Not to say that I will treat their seeds and pollen casually, but they have many excellent traits (strong structure, excellent vigor, large well defined colas, cloneable, reversible, graftable as root stock… Stress tolerant). The potential for self preservation may not be all bad.

Rinsed hermaphrodite clippings: excellent for science and wet/dry trim practice.

Korin looks dusty and dejected. Like every other plant in this post summer state they long for sun.
Got some FF tiger bloom but its not gonna bring the arms up.

Ripe old age.

Premature herm seeds. 0/10 germination
after four days. Just science. Not planning to grow more CGxPR unless the smoke experience is amazing. If so, I may do a full on pollenated hash yard blast. These seeds were from early cuts that are curing.

usually seeds need to dry out completely before they can germinate.
but on the other hand, I’ve seen seeds spout within the buds while the female was still growing.

read in southern Spain they get pollen count for cannabis pollen drifting over from marroco? Never follow it up though. Think was Cervantes bible read in but don’t quote me.

Damn never seen that before

Kind of expected it. They are pretty new. The plant is still growing and there will likely be thousands. Thousands of mature hermy fems to do soil, nute, light etc. experiments on.

What’s the objective to your hermie experiment?

It costs just as much to run a hermie as it does a solid plant.

I got seeds if you need them?

First experiment:
Does drying affect germination of ColumbianGoldxPanamaRed hermaphrodite seeds (presumably the data will apply more generally)

Background: 0/10 fresh seeds germinated from earlier batch after 5 days.
Research time from probable pollination.

Prediction:
Dry seeds will have a higher germination rate.

Materials:
Water
Ten fresh seeds harvested five minutes ago.
Paper towels
Reptile heating pad
Distancing plate
Plastic bag.

Proceedure:
Day1
Five, still moist, chosen at random go into wet paper towel. Soak,
Days 2 - 5 check daily (at noon) for roots, measure
Days 6 - 10 Repeat with 5 day dried seeds
Compare germination rates.

Please advise and recommend, particularly drying times and methods.

Phase two: increase sample

Cohorts A and B

One seed’s drying rack is another seed’s germination station.

@OleReynard, you know I want your seeds! Especially them stinky ones.

For the science experiments I want seeds that are totally expendable.

End of an era. Korin was my first rock star plant. Don’t think the Mama will pull through.

The pile is bigger than any I had prior to my 50s but it tastes like my youth, green full of leaves and seed husks.
Gets me high though. When I was 15 that meant I hadn’t been ripped off. I was never cool enough to talk back to a dealer. They could shut off my weed supply.

The act of tearing it up and pulling out seeds is also familiar.

1/200 - a new hope.

@toastyjakes bout 20 years ago I had a buddy who owned some property pretty far off in the sticks and on his 20 acres of woods there was a 1 acre clearing almost in the middle of it and he would grow these massive plants there with mulch and everything had been doing it for years with no problems going out there every week or two and check on them never a problem well while there he took a little nature walk and said he came across a very small grow of someone else’s so he went back to his property and decided to leave it alone as it wasn’t his and hoped whoever it was would leave his alone…3 months later he harvested tens of thousands of seeds and his 220 oz’s went for 140 that winter LMAO
