I would top dress with EWC when you flip to flower and you should be good to go.
Heat stress can be deceiving and mistaken for cal mag ! Good eye , spotting lower leaf and lower temp in another room plants doing fine !
If you have access to a temp gun shoot the leaf temps and that temp should be at least 5 degree F lower than ambient room temps .
That’s a really good tip, thanks!
If I was just growing the autos and didn’t want want to up pot or move them, I think I would do one big no till bed, otherwise I would drop down to smaller pots and just feed a lot as you are used to doing it. I am lazy lol. Worm casts as Reikio say’s and a P,K tea in flower if they look like they might be lacking something. I would also add some potassium silica in your water and epsom salts.
Awesome all that stuff I have on hand or is available for low cost. And yeah as long as I can still achieve big plants I’ll run smaller containers as I dont mind watering them a couple times a day as long as I dont have to be mixing up nutrients and checking EC and pH multiple times a day.
Might even look into the blumat/watering carrot route if this works out.
With the smaller pots you will probably still have to PH but anywhere between a PH of 6-7 should be ok.
Organics is cheaper for sure once you have a good soil built.
I would also just have one big tray with all the pots in it, and water from the bottom mostly.
I used blumats for half a grow, I like to move my pots around and every time you do you will have to re set the ceramic carrots. If the ceramic part of the carrot, breaks its seal with the soil and gets air to it, it can start to dry out a bit, and it will then empty the whole res through that pot, so I found out twice lol.
Grats on post 666!
Good points there.
I have high strength pH down and my tap comes out at 7.5ish so likely should keep a reservoir on hand of pH’ed water.
I would love to try a no till bed but I start my autos in the closet before moving to the tent and I dont wanna get into transplanting autos.
As for bottom feeding I’m not sure what I can find for a single tray to fit this space but maybe 2 could do it. I should mention I have a big bag of perlite too I was told I should put some at the bottom of my pots and of course mix with the soil for drainage/aeration.
I’m gonna see what I can find in the realm of 1-2gal pots with a nice shape and size to them. Gotta get new seeds started and into this soil soon though.
I am really interested to see how autos grow in an organic mix like this. I have done silly things like give autos growing in coco only water for the first 2 weeks and they still grow just as well as plants I fed high strength nutrients to so I reckon they wont use much of what’s in that soil until they only have 5-6 weeks left.
Also interested to see if it really does affect the taste as so many people have said. I am skeptical coming from a soilless background but mildly optimistic. This is just going to be an experiment, if I like it I’ll continue in the future but I want to give these girls their best possible chance to impress me.
I was gonna use that gaia soil if I couldn’t get my Kryptonite. It looks like a great soil.
You said you got a great price on it, my I ask how much?
Perlite will run out the bottom holes. I use the clay balls, especially with air pots, cause the bottom is nothing but holes.
I got a deal at $15 but I think it was only 26-28 new. Kryptonite 35+
I’m willing to give it a try!
Yeah kryptonite is stupid expensive, after a few grows I’m gonna re use the soil and just refresh it.
Gonna make a bin and put all my used soil n roots with some good ol’ worms in there, then redress the soil and use it.
Oh and that’s a damn good deal!!
Panty hose over the bottom of the pots! Can put sand in there if you wanted.
It’s getting very wild here, just lost the garbage can off the deck. I am not going looking for it now.
I hope your outside plants don’t get destroyed.
Everything stopped and it was right warm for the last 2hrs until just right now it started to rain again.
Uh oh…
So they’re, growing. Still not pretty to look at. I’m seeing some damage on the bud tip of my backrest plant. I’m assuming its heat and nutrient issues and not rot since this is the plant that is suffering the worst from the feed issues but hey I’ve been wrong before.
And a closet update too:
They look to be doing fine, some maturity showing now and are actually looking dank as hell.
Looks like light bleaching on that bud.
Yeah light/heat bleaching I assume.
And as far as outside goes, well the plants weren’t even phased by the storm last night. Middle of the night there was even horizontal rain and super strong winds.
Oh and also…
10x 560mm Bridgelux EB Gen 2 came in today.
Going to build a new light to cover this tent. I am doing this part by part as I can afford it. Havent picked up a driver yet will have to wait until next month, but dreams gotta start somewhere, right?
Final specs will be 20 x 560mm 3500k strips running on two XLG-150-L-AB drivers. Going for dense coverage here and plan on making two square 22"x22" light panels full of diodes
Glad your plants survived, my outside clones are good, got about 140 liters of rain water in my buckets, should keep me in water for the next 2 weeks
Yeah I was thinking the same, a early test for hurricane season. Hopefully we won’t get any before harvest time. Saying that mine are pretty much done I think. Not sure how long these autos run for, I want them as big as possible when the light is free lol.
