Well since the power is out, I gotta keep my tent open to keep humidity down. Might as well take a pic.

Power came back a couple times for 5 seconds. Then you hear transformers blowing in the neighborhood and power goes back out. That happened for about 4 hours and then it’s been on all night.

Gonna go out and assess the damages in my yard and on my car now. :grimacing:

I’m northwest of Richmond. The trees whipped back n forth a bit. We saw some flashing. Heard a little thrashing, but got not a drop.

On the south side of the river however, it seems things were a bit more serious. Hearing a lot of folks without power this AM.

We lost power (N. Chesterfield) for a couple hours, but it came back on before midnight. My plants may have gotten a little freaked out by the early appearance of “night,” and then the break of “dawn” only two hours later, followed by nightfall again (when I got up and turned the timer forward to the correct settings). But they seem none the worse for wear.

Sorry to hear yours took it on the chin, @imstinky . It looks like they were pretty far along, and in good health. Hopefully, they’ll be back in the swing of things in no time.

I’m also in N chesterfield. Big limb fell on our cars but I think the worst is a dented fender and hood.

Took a drive around the neighborhood after getting my car cut out and there is multiple houses with trees laying on them and lots of trees still laying in the roads. One house had 2 big oaks fall through the roof and blew the side of the house out. Rough shit. I feel lucky now

Yikes! …Sorry to hear about the car damage. But it sounds like you made out better than some of your neighbors. I haven’t had a thorough look around our neighborhood yet – just along my commute route.

That was a weird storm. Lots of lightning, wind, and rain. But by the time the power went out, it seemed like most of the storm had passed. Our utilities are all under ground, so we rarely lose power. But a BIG chunk of the grid went down in our area.

SW just got a tinkle overnight.

Stay safe up there. Sounds like a hurricane is going to get the coast soon too?

I’m heading for Wilmington NC next week for a Widespread Panic double header friday and Saturday nights. I hope that hurricane stays well off the coast!
