What is the best watering can?

How do you control pH on the tanks? Or is it not necessary, since it’s directly on the ground?

Not necessary bro! Rain water is the softest, no chlorine, water around , best thing to water any plant with not much for pollution here in Colorado so I’m not to concerned with acid rain! I’m all organic in my lawn care as well , my yard looks as good if not better than the neighbors synthetic fert program that they pump on their yards!

Picture just taken! My grass is healthier my roots go deeper, I water at a fraction what he pumps on for water ,

very little weeds no expensive ferts just compost tea/ worm tea few times throughout the year!

Mind you I haven’t watered in almost two months! Oh BTW mines on the left for clarification!

Work on your soil get it healthy you won’t need to water as often, I kid you not I’v maybe put on between 5-10 inches of water all summer! Out temps in CO get to 95-100 * easily for 2-3 weeks long The lawn let’s me know when it needs water by turning a slight grey then I’m good for a good two weeks or so when watered!

Depends, I dont like to have a can that weighs more than 4 lbs, so thats roughly half a gallon, anything bigger than that is just too much of a hassle to manuver. Too heavy of a can makes for sloppy watering. Small cans make for a long watering session, especially when you hit high numbers

I personally like pressurized water tanks. I dig the aquamate.

I use one of these at work, really handy. I’m going to do some plumbing projects next season, and have multiple stations with Quick disconnects, but its not the same… The water pressure is a bit too much, and I need to choke it down with another valve, but its not as even as the aquamate water tank.

I guess I’ll break it down.

I like the water stream to be shower like, without too much pressure, I dont care too much for the stream,
I like it easy to maneuver, I like to cover the surface evenly, without too much effort. Some cans have sucky handles. Some people like the fiskars cans, I cant stand them.
I prefer lightweight, less than 5 pounds, The bigger cans I end up overwatering the first few because and underwatering the last few… Water is 8.3 lb/gal… Reaching out with a full can that weight 15lb’s and trying make circles with it without making a mess… yeah, not happening. do that 50 or 60 times… you’ll want a lighter can.

I set up a very simple system using some high pressure braided chemical tubing that is very sturdy and fitted it over the spout on my watering can and just put a small clamp over it. The tubing can be held like 3+ feet out before you loose control of it so with arm extension you can get to some hard to reach places I’d imagine. I had no need for that length but you can cut to adjust to your needs. And it was free for me because I already had the can and had the tubing. Most gentle stream ever and you can add a shower type fitting very easily.

I saw someone mention using a camping shower for watering their plants. You just dump it in a bucket and turn it on. Something like this (how do we do a preview of a link here?) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MTV3I9H/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I1W7UVCEWPDWNY&colid=22Y8I1JGWVUW6

Then I saw this one what is a pump spray shower similar to the cement sprayer. I though it looked pretty promising.

Lol! I use 3 ltr soda bottles with pourers like the kind bartenders use on liquor bottles. Looking for something less cumbersome.

I was considering one of these but would replace dispenser valve to accommodate hose with valve on the hose.
