Who does topping and/or heavy training and who just lets them run? Why?

I usually FIM at 3rd or 4th node. Plants that respond well develop at least 4 main tops.

Are you putting like Saran Wrap around your pots? Why? Please

It’s splitting the difference between a traditional fabric pot and a plastic pot by lining the middle. The main reasons I’ve seen are essentially that the soil dries slower and from the top down by comparison to a normal fabric pot which dry from the top and sides inwards, but with improved aeration/drainage by comparison to a plastic pot.

Grassroots fabric pots (swear by 'em) sells fabric pots that have a tarp-like waterproof liner on the interior that they market as “living soil” fabric pots, with these stated reasons:

For growing in dryer climates and greenhouses, consider Living Soil Fabric Pots & Beds. With a waterproof liner and bottom aeration strip, Living Soil Fabric Pots & Beds recreate the top-down drying pattern that is found in nature. This ensures optimum moisture retention, eliminates dry pockets, and helps to cultivate essential microbes

Reduced Water & Energy Use

By preventing drainage and drying from all sides of the container, Living Soil Fabric Pots & Beds lengthen the wet-to-dry soil cycle. That means less water usage and lower humidity indoors.

Even Moisture + Drainage

Traditional fabric containers drain from all sides, which can cause dry pockets. Our Living Soil Fabric Pots & Beds direct water downward, ensuring even distribution throughout.

Improved Aeration

The 4” aeration strip prevents roots from circling the bottom of the container by allowing air to circulate from below. Our Living Soil Fabric Pots & Beds also encourage soil to dry from the top down, mimicking the way soil dries in nature.

I kinda go with how the plants look in veg. If I’m running like 3 in a 4 x 4 I’ll try and do a scrog. If I’m not feeling too ambitious I’ll let them go with a single topping. This run I ran like 7 3GS with a trellis (sog) . It’s doing pretty good !

Yes it’s cling wrap I use it because it helps retain moisture around the edges of the fabric pot to stop them from drying out these are just cheep fabric pots works similar to grassroots pots lining that they use

I’m not familiar with those but will check them out. Thanks. I’ve been pleased with my fabric pots I pull tons of roots out after each grow.

I topped first then trained them this way for couple days
