Iām listening to this History of Byzantium (eastern Roman Empire/Constantinople) podcast, and itās pretty good. Each episode is only about 20 minutes, so even in the dry parts it moves quick.
One of the most interesting parts about it is, how Christianity was literally BRAND new, and already folks were arguing over TINY minutiae of Jesusā teachings, and killing other groups over the disagreements. 
then the emperors got on the bandwagon and started going to war over the same arguments

I had a few Jehovahās Witnesses come to my house to try and tell me how wonderful the Bible is a few weeks agoā¦ I was a little bit shocked to find that theyād never even heard of the Council of Nicaea, or the Apocrypha. 
How do you believe in something without even knowing its history?

Maybe because theyāre not true. Yes there are fake people. I go to their meetings sometimes. Thereās no worse than a primitive Baptist. Iām not sure where people get that they donāt know the Bible. Iām not really sure of that comment. They do like to choose certain books. Thatās not their version. Do you even know where their original Bible come from?
