Will it be addictive?

I saw a documentary on this, I believe the main theory is that they have laced a cheap local strain with something similar to crack, likely a horrible chemical that someone with knowledge made

Thatā€™s a great answer

Weed can definitely be mentally addictive for some people, but not physically( I do agree with the irritability side effect of quitting, and possibly some time needed to adjust your sleep habits). Iā€™ve quit cold turkey with zero side effects. My cousin smoked an ounce a day and quit cold turkey with no side effects. And, yes you can work and smoke weed and get stuff done, and get it done right and efficiently. You just have to pick your poison. Stay away from the heavy hybrids if you donā€™t want to be lazy, or if you smoke them, do so at night. ( tho some folks can handle them better than me)Sativas are great for daytime and work. Weed is not at all addictive in the way cigarettes and alcohol are.

Addictive is a bit of a buzzword.

There is an ocean of difference between addictive like coffee and weed, where withdrawal is irritability and trouble with sleeping, and addictive like alcohol and opiates.

Daily use does have some drawbacks, I supposeā€¦but for me itā€™s a goddamn miracle drug. I remember when I first started getting stoned I finally felt like I was supposed to. Weed makes me feel ā€œrightā€.

I like myself a lot less when Iā€™m totally sober, and other people probably do, too. Smooths out the mania, slows down the thoughts, kills anger dead, lets me sleep and eat on a proper schedule, kills the night terrors.

Yeah too much can kill motivation, decrease sharpness, make one a bit too comfortable, make you eat more than you shouldā€¦but for me the benefits grossly outweigh the downsides.

Smoking weed is battling anxiety naturally in my opinion. Itā€™s using a plant the way people have been doing for thousands of years. Nothing more natural than that. Some people just have chemical imbalances( low seratonin for example), or their endocannabinoid system doesnā€™t function properly, and needs a little kick start to get things flowing smoothly.

Where did you read that? Iā€™ve been waiting for some asshole to go ahead and ruin marijuana by finding a way for it to become very harmful. I hope to God this isnā€™t true. Probably Financed in secret by Monsanto if it is

What do you consider natural. I have been on chemicals for lots longer and have replaced one so far .

I feel the same way!

I smoke a lot everyday 7 grams easy, still I get up at 5 am everyday, out the door and to work every single day, I havenā€™t missed a day in 2 yearsā€¦ holidays birthdays etc Iā€™m working and smoking. Some days I eat 100mg of gummies tooā€¦
The lack of motivation is a lieā€¦or a personal thingā€¦

Thanks yā€™all.

Iā€™ll definitely try, but I remember myself being in San Francisco and smoke everyday after work. And I knew itā€™s not a good idea to run out of weed. So this time I am probably gonna smoke only once a week to keep my discipline under control.

Thanks for linking the articles.

Calling it ā€œchemically alteredā€ is very misleading. It makes it sound like something high tech or new is going on when they are likely just selling bud laced with cocaine.

All three of those articles use this article as the reference point

And one even mentions this part

ā€œ But the limited evidence Farah has suggests to him that the marijuana may have cocaine baked into it, which, if true, he said could explain its dangerous addictiveness.ā€

The evidence currently available seems to point to it being laced with cocaine, but that doesnā€™t get clicks, so we get to ā€œchemically-alteredā€. It makes sense, as lacing pot with cocaine would most likely be the cheapest, easiest, and most readily available method for them to accomplish their goal.

Iā€™ve recently gone dry for a medical reason, after daily use for years, mostly on high concentrate edibles.

The only difference so far Iā€™ve felt is Iā€™m experiencing pretty vivid dreams again. I think the ganja just hammered my brain to sleep every night.

Zero physiological changes. I work out hard 5 days a week and havenā€™t seen any changes there.

Thanks buddy. Iā€™ll check it out. These scum should be shot for doing that. I always thought some asshole would do such a thing. I sincerely hope this turns out to be some sort of fake article.

Iā€™m not sure if I dreamed a lot more after I quit (for awhile) , or if I remembered my dreams a lot more LOL. But It definitely felt I dreamt more as well for a while.
@MantisTobogganMD , yep, it is a bit misleading. Sounds like theyā€™re just adding something nasty to the weed. Cocaine laced weed is not new, if thats what it is.
Sounds like it could be a new secret recipe. Maybe some meth in there or something similar. Wonā€™t be long before it hits this country. Easy to bring it in. One more reason to smoke homegrown.

in the 60ā€™s and 70ā€™s there was alot of stuff like this as well, so its not new, Angel dust, formaldehyde and others

I have insomnia from PTSD; that alone makes it a pain to quit. I kinda like not dreaming, you know?

But really the only negative Iā€™d attribute to withdrawals is I get irritable. I think thatā€™s pretty normal giving up anything.

Depends on how much and how often you consume. I smoke 1/2oz+ a day from harvest till like 2 months after harvest and feel like complete ass till I harvest again.(just a long ass anxiety attack basically) if youā€™re constantly bombarding your cannabinoid receptors with outside cannabinoids itā€™s going to take awhile to normalize and get back in homeostasis. Thatā€™s true of pretty much any substance though.
