Once the plants start going to ground, I’ll probably post videos for ease.

Front right is looking like it wants to be a 10 foot Christmas tree hope you find something skunky this year

I’m curious as to the size. If skunk 1 is a comparison it should only get 5 to 6 feet. I know this may sound strange, but please universe don’t give me any 10 footers. My 10 foot diesels were a complete pain in my ass last year. Lol. I’ll be perfectly happy with all 6 footers. Much more manageable in flower

that’s just Ghost OG x Tangerine Kush - no Stardawg in that one
Spectral Tangerine is from 14er in Colorado
that one is more sativa - I vape at night to sleep well and tried that one twice and kept me up for hours - had a great time thinking about everything - positive, not trippy or anxiety producing - but couldn’t sleep much

Is it marked wrong?

@SamwellBB I’m okay with more sativa leaning varieties. Mostly because the dense indica buds are so prone to rot outdoors here. It’s gonna be interesting to see if I can even pull off the grand daddy purp and the og kush without losing half.

On another note… Build a soil, probably because of the Covid took forever to ship my straw mulch and the cannabis patch has about 100 volunteer tomato plants in it now since the 2nd till. I’m pretty bummed, also bermuda grass already going gang busters again in there. I’m gonna have to till again, replant my companions and throw the straw down before the fems can get planted. sigh Luckily, each time I till, the ground is softer and it gets easier. Some of the nasturtiums are up and those can be avoided by the tiller, but all the marigolds, I can’t tell what is what out there with all the other volunteers and grass that sprouted. It doesn’t take long for it to get out of control.

How big is the plot, again? Here is something you can try and it’s fairly inexpensive. Go to “Brand X” and pick up some cedar or redwood fence pickets (they should only be $2 or $3 a piece) that are at least 6" wide (well more like 5-11/16). You can get some 8" ones in cedar, but they are more expensive but will work better. Now, cut off the “dogeared” part so it is flush and bury it 4" deep so that there is just shy of 2" above ground and repeat for the entire surround. This has always worked for me. Bermuda grass has a fairly deep root system (they say 8" to 9" but I have never seem it that deep, where ever I have grown it, more like 5" to 6") but, IIRC the runners are fairly shallow at about an inch or two, so this should stop any “penetration” into the plot. The boards should last at least a few years.

Of course this ISN’T what I did with the “climber” plot, and you can see how much work I will have to do to get rid of it all.

Yes. This is exactly what the soil amendment guy said too. I’ve just been too cheap and lazy to do it. lol This year I’ll till again and mulch, come winter when everything is dead I’ll work on that for next year. I’ve spent about as much money on this grow that I can. At some point, I have to throw in the towel and go with it as is. Still have a bit of expense left to buy the rest of the pvc and rebar to finish the trellises. I’m pretty tapped out.

The plot is 400 sq ft

here’s the Spectral Tangerine
I only grow small or medium sized plants (except when I grow outside)
I’m sure these can get big if you give them time and love

I’ve seen that trick done with cardboard and rocks or dirt. A couple layers of cardboard and weighted down with dirt, rocks, whatever. By the time the cardboard mulches into the soil the grass is done and gone. Just chop off anything that pokes out from under.

Ooh that’s pretty! Well we are gonna find out how big outdoors! lol The buds look more hybrid like. Not crazy dense. Should do okay

I have yet to successfully grow any either.

Edit: btw Holy Punch got stronger in the jar and the apex cut had that burnt rubber smell undertone. Nice plant oh and more of the fruity taste. Guess the Orange Goji will be the fruity one this year? .

The Orange Goji I tried was more citrusy than fruity. And yes, my Holy Punch got way stronger the longer it cured!

Yeah, I had my man bring home cardboard boxes from work. I’ll lay them down under the straw mulch this time. It will help some.

Yup, I use corrugated boxes that Amazon ships with.I just cut 'em up to fit and use them instead of mulch or to keep things from growing in a vacant bed. I like to use them for tomato plants and other veggies. Keeps the soil moist and cooler in the hot sun.
Does not look as nice as mulch though.

When I had a farm we would use empty feed sacks. Not as heavy as cardboard, but the paper was thick enough to carry 50lbs so it worked well as a weed barrier.
