I don’t know. In his younger days, mine would have considered it a portable “Food Bin” :yum:

I’ve got another week before I put the fems in the ground, waiting on my man’s next day off that way I can have him till the bed again. Plants are trucking along. 2 of the last 3 Spectral Tangerine seeds are popping today and I had Dad here putting some net on the first layer of trellises… It feels so good to be ahead of the trellising situation this year. Sure hoping it makes my life easier in flower. Once the unsexed plants hit the 2 gallon pots next week, I’m sure they’ll start forming some branches so I can try sexing them indoors in a glass of water. My entire garden is popping right now, so spending a lot of time back there trying to keep on top of things. So far the cannabis is the easiest to deal with. I love veg. lol Nice warm weather, lots of flowers popping! It’s an absolute joy in my garden right now!

Hope things are great on your side! I see you haven’t skipped a beat as usual. :green_heart:

@WMoon518 She’s getting old but she’d probably still lose her mind over chickens. Sounds like a really gorey clean up too… blech

So friends, put the net on the first layer of trellises today. This bitch is gonna be ready in flower this year. No last minute oh shit moments trying to support them. I just cannot have the plants run mine and dad’s lives during flower this year. That was too much last year.

So next Thursday is a liquid fish drench. I’ve started tracking this stuff on my phone calendar. I want to start my aspirin foliars, they will also be every 3 weeks, so I think I’ll do that this evening so I have it a week apart from my drenches. Trying to make a schedule so that I don’t have too much stuff to do every week as far as foliars and mineral drenches. Not to mention the weekly sprays of BT for caterpillar control. Last year I waited until flower for BT sprays, live and learn, that was a bad idea. We have caterpillars 11 months a year here and they are already in my petunias, my lavender and found a big sucker eating one of my gladiola flowers last night. Tmw will be a week since my last spray, so Fridays I guess will be BT day.

I’ll bet dollars to donuts that this sucker is gonna be a male. Look at that spacing between nodes and tall. Hmm

Of course she does, then she has to turn around 3 times to lay down :joy:

First aspirin foliar is complete. Tmw I will give them some kelp and Mammoth P for a boost. They don’t really need nutes yet, but kelp always makes them happy regardless.

Mine “rocks” back and forth until he finally puts his butt down (usually off the bed which means he can’t get up and needs me to “Help” him).

Oddly enough, this grow journal holds me accountable. If it weren’t for you guys, I believe my grow would suffer. I’d still do fine, but I’d probably lazy out on some steps and not be as consistent or as vigilant. It also lets me see the progression that almost becomes invisible at times when you look at your plants every single day. So, thanks for being here, OG’s!

All 3 Spectral Tangerines up and healthy today. The other established plants will get a nice feed of kelp and mammoth p and this evening a BT spray all over the garden. Moving right along

I know I’m chiming in late here, but I think i remember you saying you’re in So Cal? Id say the sun’s intensity under clear plastic for as little as a week would make a big difference on the weeds youre trying to suppress. I think what youve got detailed is supposed to get really close to mimicking chemical fumigation- which will sterilize the soil entirely by killing the microbes and seeds. Plastic for a week or 2 may not control the bermuda but I bet it knocks it back hard, with minimal effort. Just my .02, I really enjoy following along and really wish I could grow trees like yours outside!

Thought about this again today. The temperature is so perfect and mild with a very generous cool breeze in the afternoon and evenings. The clear plastic would just create a greenhouse effect right now and grow everything in. The time for solarization here is August and September when it’s hot.

well @Meesh in the end they were the Spectral Tangerine x Stardawg
didn’t have them written in the list of Baked Beanz strains so assumed they were straight SPT
but looking thru my beanz found a bag of SPT x Stardawg so you are/were right !!
had clones x Stardawg written in the list so one of the clones must have been an SPT
sorry for the confusion but think you’ll be happy !!

Rocken good news! That makes them even more sativa leaning then. They already have their first set of leaves. All the plants are looking really good actually. Growing like… weeds!

So, I’ve noticed a trend in soil plants. When you start them in a soilless mix then transplant to soil their first true set of leaves turns yellow. The rest of the plant is fine and super green. It may be a transplant and medium thing. Do you think the plant has to adjust for a minute before it starts grabbing nutrients from the soil? It seems like it still uses it’s own energy before it really transitions. I’ve noticed this on other outdoor growers transplants. Any thoughts on this? I doubt it would happen in hydro or coco. Hmm…

Having said that. Plants are looking great. My new thing is going out there late at night and seeing them photosynthesize. In the dark, I can see them pushing out new leaves, then the next morning, they are one leaf set larger and back to the way they looked the day before. Almost wouldn’t know it was happening, if you weren’t really paying attention, by daily glance. Of course, like a week or two’s growth is obvious. Stoned ramble… You know what I mean.
