Wow was way off yup Iām stoned lol I had to scroll up
usually just nectar and pollen but they can be attracted to sweet things - honey, syrup, sugar water
have no idea what that bee would be killing unless she was defending herself or is not a honey bee and is some other species of bee
So the Orange Goji has grow about 6 inches since my video 2 days ago. Iād say itās way out of transplant shock and adjusting just fine in the ground.
The Cheese and the Skunk 1 are hitting 5 feet nowā¦ yep in 2 days. Iām wondering if they are gonna need a 3rd layer of trellis or if holding at feet should support them later when they grow another 3 or more feet. @Sunvalley what do you think? Any outdoor growers have thoughts? Wondering if they will become too top heavy with just 4 feet supporting them.
I like how they drupe at night and the next morning before sun up they are so happy looking I like heading out before work to tell them āHello beautiesā I donāt stoke them much cause I donāt want to smell like weed when arrive at work!
My plants got their stretch in about a week ago now Iāll Be super cropping the next weeks or less
I pruned out the inside of all of the bigger girls again. Keep that air flowing. Got rid of bottom branches that wonāt make it to the canopy and a jillion secondary branches that I donāt want. As much as possible, Iām trying to stick to only 3 nodes at the end of the main branches. So that only top colas grow in. Weāll see how it works out. Itās already getting tough to thin it out. Just have to keep up on it, I guess. Sure hope my plan works.
Your garden is looking healthy . Are your fixtures glued ? Or can you change configuration ? The tops of my frames are 14 feet just in case .
Nope. They arenāt glued. There is rebar inside the legs. There are holes drilled through the pvc and zip ties hold them steady. Mostly everything else is just snapped together like a big tinker toy. Completely adjustable as a matter of fact we modified our original design after the fact. They are really easy to modify on the fly and really sturdy.
So weāve hit the low 80ās now. Summer is right on time. Iāve been using the Marigold bushes as my water indicator, although much shallower roots they seem to want water every 2 days in the patch. Iām telling you, Half my life is spent right now watering. lol When I do the front yard and the whole backyard it takes at least 2 hours and now we are ramping up to every 2 days in the back. I donāt care much about grass. I give the front grass just enough water to live but not enough to really green it up and have only watered the actual grass in the back on 4th of July so the neighbors didnāt burn it down with all of the fireworks. Still pulling mortars out of the backyard. Mostly leave the grass to itās own devices cuz itās too much extra work and my water bill is already high just from watering the plants.
Dad is here again, I decided to err on the side of caution and add another trellis layer to the biggest 4 girls now and see how the other plants catch up. Better safe than sorry with plant support. I donāt want to go through the crap I went through last year.
Probably have the sweetest growing condition right now for cannabis. Itās ideal really. 78 degrees and 65% humidity today. Too bad we max out at about 14 1/2 hours of sun here at solstice time. Could you imagine if we had the 15+ of more northern states with the same temps and humidity?
@Tinytuttle you were talking about how you love how they close up like an umbrella at night. Last night was the first night we had a lot of dew and they all had their leaves sticking up and curled. Transpiring. It was interesting.
Iām still wishful hoping for the runt spectral tangerine to be a female, Iām literally like 90% sure they are all males. Unfortunately, wishing they are female really hard doesnāt seem to work. lol Since, I had expected a 2nd container grow, Iām thinking of throwing one auto out there for the hell of it. May start the seed tonight. If I recall, someone sent me some sort of skunk auto or maybe it is a kush auto. Guess I should check. Oh itās lemon skunk. Yeah. Iāll throw one in a pot this evening for fun.
I have full on garden envy right now.
I love watching them grow, but you wouldnāt be too envious once they start to bud. Without rain, itās hours of hand watering and my god, the bigger they get, the more time consuming my foliars and BT sprays and pruning become. Iām not complaining, I mean hell, I still have a minimum of probably 1/3 of last years harvest still and I gave away more than 3 of us smoked all year. But, I can bitch a little about how much hard work is involved. lol
Still wish I had a local friend who loved to make good hash. I would give them all my trim and let them keep half of the spoils. lol Iām way too lazy for all that.
I have been experimenting with the dark arts of biochar and vertical mulching. The biochar water retention is really impressive. I have a source for free biochar so if you want to try some just let me know. I can crush, rinse and dry it plain so you can experiment with āchargingā it or I can send you some finished that I load up with a blend of compost and Foxfarm Big Bloom and Kangaroots that is moist, huh, huh, huh, moist, when I send it so you donāt have to soak it.
I love experimenting! Been reading up on biochar but have yet to play with it. Let me know how it turns out for you. Iām remiss about adding anything to my soil this year as it has been amended per the soil test, but would love to test some out in a container grow or some of my regular flowers first! I bet the Mammoth P would be great to charge it with tooā¦ Hmmā¦
@oleskool830 get a load of this!.. I didnāt know it was still February in LA!
Yup and Iām already bitching that itās too hot out there! Iām so spoiled. I honestly canāt remember the last time that I actually had to put real shoes on because it was too cold. Pretty much 24/7 365 in my flip flops
What impressed me is that when I made the first batch it was about 3 gallons in volume. I spread that out on cement about an inch thick in the direct sun to dry it out enough to package it. It was 100F that week in April here. After 24 hrs it was still moist and cool under that one inch of biochar.
Shoot! Thatās what you need @cannabissequoia some biochar for your 5 million degree weather
