Started a tea cooking today, and reinforced the trussing especially on IBG. I’ve been seeing lots of downed plants on here in the last 2 weeks. Ironically it was a beautiful day. Until an hour ago.
It’s getting windy AF and sprinkling rain. I stopped paying attention to the weather because I can’t do much about it either way, it’s probably gonna be hot AF. So I was surprised. I’m worried the tomato cages will pull out, so I ran out put some bamboos to brace the cage I’m most worried about.
This a tree to the right of Panalawi. It’s usually, like most trees, vertical.
We’ll see tomorrow. Those ladies are spoiled rotten all the kelp, fish juice, bird shit flown in from far-flung lands, the pumice from probably 2 hours away, sand collected from the river, and fancy microbes. Like science-driven athletes. I hope anyway
Just the cages. How heavy are those cages? We got some pretty good wind and gusts today. Everything is pointed west going to sleep.
Your going to growing trees in those 50’s. Invest in some heavy duty cannabis cages. Secure them to the cages in mid bloom so you can push the weight.
The cages are like 3/8 steel tubes with nicely engineered glass-fiber plastic side braces. I’m not worried about them bending or breaking, I’m worried they’ll pull out of the pot. There’s a ton of sideways load with the plants. They don’t look that big but a surprising amount of force in a wind like this.
Next year I’ll build support under the soil to prevent that vulnerability.
The ones I have already had 6 seasons before I put another 3 on. I think mine are the 52" Zipped tied the plant doesn’t move. Shoots I put in whatever position I want by using long and short zip ties.
I found this sentence hilarious
I’m also blazed af and I must have read it 19 times, as well as rearranging it in my head to see if there was any other way to say it that was more, or equally funny, and I’ve concluded that it is perfect. Well done
Girls look unphased this morning. Not even hungover after a rough night out
I lucked out the winds must have died down after I went to sleep.
Tried a different compost tea using 4 cups of Craft Blend, a tsp of Mycrobe Complete, 3 tsp of fulvic acid and 1/3 cup sucanat. This, given the size of the tank, should result in a pretty uniform 100-200 ppm, and I top dressed the remaining material. Essentially, I gave them the recommended dosage of top-dress, but brewed first. Curious if the fulvic will help mobilize the nutrients as they go into flower.
We had some rain in October and a cold November (sporadic “light” frosts down to maybe 30-32F) but it was a really unusual year.
This year seems really similar to 2021, little rain, lots of wind and hot. 2021 first freeze was Thanksgiving, really hope I can let her go that long. My plants in 21 were smaller than these were a month ago.
It is fun, but I’ve never grown inside. It’s all the fun I know
Ordered some Terp Tea Bloom which seems like it’ll make a nicely balanced feed tea for bloom stage. It’ll make a 120-120-130 N-P-K nute sauce with 8:1 Ca:Mg ratio (350 grams into 23 gallons). I was really impressed with the Terp Tea’s ratios when I ran the numbers on it, nicely formulated. Also grabbed a small bottle of Monosilicic Acid which should last at least a season or two. That’ll show up this week sometime.
907: She’s gonna be a nightmare to trim. But she is definately smelling of berries. It’s becoming obvious. Very excited for everything but the trim job on this one. She’s moving right along.
IBG: The Bazooka Joe scent is hit or miss at this point, but I ocassionally catch really nice whiffs. Really nicely bred plant with beatiful structure.
Panalawi: She’s obviously quite curious what’s on the other side of the fence, and saying hi to our neighbors with her pretty, narrow leaves and tall figure.
