3,500 12ft females 3.5 tons = RECORD BUST FOR NEW MEXICO

Has anybody remember this 150 pages thread from Overgrow? Did someone archived it? I wonder if someone could re-post pictures here… It is legendary thread… I’ve only gathered few info about it…

1980 - A BLAST FROM THE PAST!!
How much could you grow if you had 40 acres?
Not sure how many of you would be interested but I thought I would share a brief moment in time.
These images are but a few from our “pot farm portfolio”.
There is obviously a whole story invovled around this with many interesting twists but too lengthly to go into detail with the first post.

SYNOPSIS:
We started out with over 8000 plants - a strain selectively crossed 9 generations to create a superior plant we called “9th Generation Purple Carlotta”. At the time we feel this was the strongest most potent hybrid ever grown in the US.

With 2 years in planning we started the actual grow in Feb. of 1980. Unfortunantly 7 months later we were busted. At the time this was a record bust for New Mexico - total seized was 3500 female plants weighing in at over 7,000 lbs. Standing from 10ft to 16 feet tall average height of the plants were 12 feet. Authorities had to use a local copper mine smelter to destory it all - doing so “put the fire out” - took them 2 days to relite the smelter. Man - I would have loved being downwind of that burn. Even though we did get busted only 2 weeks from harvest, we did manage to get most males out which paid for all operational costs.

After 24 years of silence I felt the erge to finally share this story.

3 mens, 20.000 female plants between 1’5 to 2’5 metres long growin, n a lot of more driying…

Only a goat shepher, more than 5.000 plants: guerrilla into Montains, no GreenHouse:

Hey HydroPower,
Good to be back! That was me that shared the story. We grew the 9th Generation Purple Carlotta strain. By todays standards that was a small grow but it was the story behind it that made it very engaging.
When OG shut down I lost the 150 page+ thread. Even wayback machine didn’t archive the site. While I still have all the photos it was all the Q&A’s and involvement from community that seemed to go on forever. If anyone has archived the old thread, even partially please PM me.
If no archives are available I could consider starting new thread.

I found this thread from google search (thx again HydroPower). While I know 2 team members have since passed if Steven Rick or Jim (grow team) are still out there please signup with OG and PM me.
thx

starting a 2.0 thread on that would be cool even if someone does surface with the archives. willing to bet a lot of people would still have questions, myself included! the scale might seem small now but dudes like you and @HydroPower were doing this stuff on a massive scale in a time where MJ was looked at by the general public as an enemy. respect and welcome back to OG… glad to be amongst you guys!

I tend to agree - It would probably attract the interest more from the older gen like you said. I’ll whip out the photo album and start from scratch. I like the 2.0
