6” fan recommendations

I had planned on buying a Infinity T6, but manufacturing is all screwed right now with Covid and they keep pushing back when they will be available. Can anyone recommend another good fan?

I just purchased one from amazon if you check in the product info it says something sponsored by ac infinity
The web site has no stock
But the amazon stores stock
Paid the same price as in the ac infinity site
Came factory packed
And it’s a great fan

There’s usually a 25% off coupon from the AC Infinity website that takes off the cost of shipping and a few extra bucks, but like Papalag said, just buy it from Amazon if you need it ASAP. I wouldn’t even consider any other type of fan, and you absolutely should always spend the extra couple of bucks to get the controller. It’s fan-tastic. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: lol

Hyperfan 6". I have 2. Expensive but worth it.

Comes with speed controller dial (which you 100% want, trust me) and whisper quiet. A 6" fan at full bore pulls an immense amount of air and is pretty loud, for your purposes you’ll be operating at less than 50% I imagine.

Try running a cheap active air 6 at full bore and let me know how annoying it is haha. Any fan can move air, that’s the easy part, it is a very simple machine. Hard part is doing it quietly and that’s what you are paying for.

Agree with all the previous posts here.

Have a pair of t4s and a t8, love them, they are relitively cheap for what they are, the controllers are awesome. Ordered the T8 during Covid through ama-goon, came fast. But as with everything there are benefits and draw backs.

@vernal is also correct though; these fans are not as quiet as some of the other fans out there at a slightly higher price point with seemingly less automation - T series are programmable temp and humidity controlled or a series of manual settings that ramp speed, control flow rate and cycle the system hands-off.

Unfortunately to do so with other higher-end fans may require additional accessories to automate which puts the fan/sys into a whole new price point to achieve similar features. So I guess it comes down to where your budget lies. Also note that there are temp and humidity controlled outlets available out there around $100 CAD that can automate whatever fan you want. If I was a slightly more rich man I would have found the quietest fan I could Maxfan, Vortex S-line there are many out there and gone that way in hindsight as the sound is a huge factor and why I went way overkill with a T8 so I could run it at 30%. Just MHO.

Go to menards and pick up an online furnace duct fan, its all i use.

This too is an excellent cost saving option however sacrifices are being made here too. For example the 8" duct fan I have picture below is $75 Cad, can be boosted by another fan upto a max 500 cfm but on its own only provides 200 cfm @ 54.6 decibels. For the savings you can do a lot of automation even run multiple units comparably to say a T8 that is 5X the cost of the duct booster but the T8 provides 800 cfm @ 39 decibels and is fully automated for temp and humidity control out of the box- 5X the cost.

In my space, I couldn’t make it work with inexpensive duct boosters for both flowrates and sound levels but impressed you are @OleReynard! I think a cheap and effective ventilation build/analysis thread might be warranted!

I bought this one recently and so far it’s working great for me. It’s really pumping some air for me. I had some vibration noise from it, so I just leaned a small piece of wood I had handy up against it and it kills the vibration. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07ZPC5GTX/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Edit: Ooops… just looked and it’s out of stock now too. Guess I lucked out.
