My buddy’s dad grew back then. He had a "coffee can’’ of seeds from grows. Mostly Acapulco Gold and some Thai. They were not stored well (just lived in the can in a basement) and so far I have been unsuccessful getting further than a couple popped shells. I haven’t really thrown anything at them beyond my normal soak then towel method.

From my understanding, after a certain amount of years, old seeds aren’t able to go past being popped, because the nutes they had stored in the seed is gone due to age, atmosphere, and as I have heard, radiation. Having said that, I recall reading from another forum, about soaking them in superthrive, and that helped. Did that for 12 hrs yesterday with the remaining seeds I had, and threw humidity domes over them

@Familytradition take some EWC (worm poop) mix a Teaspoon in a cup of warm (not hot) water then drop some seeds in that water with a lid (lid helps keep water warm longer) for 12 to 24hrs. This should help alot with popping old seeds. Once popped, place seeds in damp soil with humidity dome (even a ziplock bag works)

@CADMAN I scarified these, soaked them in a superthrive mix for 24 hrs, and planted in soil with humidity domes. Still havent popped out of shell

i know a guy he said he learned how to spout old seds over many many years. and find one particullar best method . his name is solar logos on icmag.
he also pointed out how he tried any techniue, combination, for ages. And he really used old seeds like 50 years , 30, anything.
I really believe he knows something:

the method is like this:

  • scuff the Seeds very carefully to not go to far, just a little hole at the pointy end, so the taproot can exit easily and the Seeds get drowned in the solutions .
  • h2o2 Soak . For a 16 percent solution of H2o2 you must dillute by a factor of around 100 i recall (correct me someone if wrong, im unshure about percentage!) . I recall H2o2 soak is just for 20 Minute.
  • Soak in gibberlic acid for about 4, 5 Day , alternatively one can use coconut water to gibberlic a.
  • Place into Earthwormcastings, put a humidity Dome, or just some plastic plastic onto it, and keep a very konstant Enviroment, that means never let it get too cold, or to hot, but just middlewarm.
And never make the soil to wet , nor to dry. You can achieve that with a humidity dome and water them with a sprabottle. Couple heeps all couple days or so.

Wait for up to 6 Months. Yes 6 months. One mistake is to wait not long enough, often with such old seeds it can and WILL take that long till they come up. and he prooved right, we also sproted very old seeds that came up after months .

  • Wear gloves too when working and touching seeds.

Excuse my bad English.
The Genetics you have look absolutely the best ive ever seen someone have since a long time. Looks like i seen some thai i think. I SPECULATE.

Sadly, only have three left, after i took a sterilized razor, and started splitting seeds. Inside of the others were a black mush

I’m going to have to try and pop the rest all at once. I don’t think it’s worth shipping them around. If I get a plant or a couple I’ll have to keep them and spread cuts around.

Sorry they haven’t worked out.

its all good. Still have a few I did things too, and keeping an eye on. Wish I would have remembered about sanding the tip down. Thanks for reminding me @romanoweed
