A big bears grows and tribulations

My favorite short story short of flowers for Algernon

I am flowering plants under both LED and my trusty HPS. There is no comparison IMHO. HID Lights are tough with heat. With cool tubes, forced intake and appropriate exhaust fan, its good for 9 months out of the year anyway. The LED Buds are noticeably more “airy” and less triches. HID Buds tight and hard as a rock. Just sayin! :cowboy_hat_face:

What will it cost me to be on that esteemed list? Your quest for the “Dawg” and the extreme Diesel strains have been an inspiration to me. We are of “like mind” when it comes to craft growing. Much Respect…:cowboy_hat_face:

My experience as of late with SI LEDs shucked and peeled is as follows. In a 2X3 tent, 18 X 14 watt 2700K SIB Shucked and peeled is not enough to flower 4 plants. Plain and simple…just not enough. Sacrificed one to make room in small space. Remaining plants have stretched into the lights. Budding is happening only at the very tops. Larfy, Small bud lollipops is what I’m left with. I thought I had enough LED light. NOT! Live and learn. This will be an entry in oleskool’s Big Book of Aquired Knowledge! :cowboy_hat_face:

Turns out oleskool’s shitkicker SI LED ShedStrips shucked and peeled are not performing as expected. They will be relegated to a “Sex Shop breeding tent” a Mom station or for an upgrade to veg tent. Small tents suck. Nothing but Apollo 4X4s for me! :cowboy_hat_face:

Note to self…1) .Nothing but 3 - 5 gal pots. 2) Only Apollo 4X4 tents. 3) Stick with nute regimen that has worked best, regardless of hype. Don’t experiment.
4) LED can never measure up to HPS for flower. (Now that’s oleskool!) LED for veg or moms only. IMHO :cowboy_hat_face:

You can tell it’s been a tough Texas Summer for oleskool. I still feel failure even if I have no control of the situation. It sucks!

I just geared up to try my orchid-mix/megacrop & my old mix side-by-side.

Wait! A possible teaching moment! I experimented with moving plants from LED to HPS in mid flower. Result: Don’t do that shit! It results in plants that apparently commit suicide over it. Some people told me “light is light” and not to worry.

Wrong! Light is not simply light. The HPS apparently just blew their system into overload and they pulled a “Robin Williams” on me. Definitely an entry in oleskool’s Big Book!

Is this “big book of knowledge” a tangible object?

No. It’s all in the demented mind of this old hippy fueled by 57 different herbs and spices. When I make a public entry in my oleskool’s Book of Aquired Knowledge, I don’t forget it and it hopefully results in a teaching moment. However, I may be offering a hard bound coffee table book version. Stay tuned. :cowboy_hat_face:

Happy labor day!
We’re still chugging along.
I’ve added three new super spicy Louisiana bell pepper plants.
Every thing needs transplant.
I’m not in great shape right now, as I’ve lost sensation in my left leg from my toes up to my waist line along with some ruptured disks due to my own stupidity.
I am dedicated but moving really slow, and with this kind of pain not safe to be talking on forums with friends that deserve my utmost and best behavior.
The plan still stands to have a seed giveaway end of year with my diesel a chem and hopefully a purps/starburst cross.
Don’t give up on me!! Lol
For now I’ll be lurking and liking in support of my home away from home.

Recently a Victory for me medically has me back on the mend and moving like years ago.
Ive neglected, and in fact sent my garden into stasis with light feeding and low intensity light.
Barely having the wherewithall to leave the easy chair untill now, my girls are root bound and have suffered.

I have my old swagger back and this weekend it’s time to make amends with some reamended supersoil and some 2 or 3 gallon pots
The goal still, is to flower in a couple weeks and choose the best 3 or 4 females for a seed run.

PS. modern medicine isn’t totally evil lol
Good hunting!

My purple starburst self topped, which is always a trait I look for. Good sign!
The girls are bouncing back and we’ll be getting serious growth in week 4 as well as sex soon.

I’ll keep things brief and try to keep my chin up.
Someone very dear to me recently did me wrong and stole from me.
It’s been made common knowledge that I grow as a result, and though I am in a legal state, this isn’t something I’m comfortable continuing.
My current grow, tent, lights and all related plants, as well as the whole of my most recent harvest is destroyed beyond repair or salvage.
When people take, what would have been given freely, it is a high form of treachery.
But chin up mouseketeers!!!
I will grow again, bigger and better than before some day.
For now this will be a final tribulation.
I’ll try to stop in, and say hi but this bruins heart is busted.
I can’t be a leader if I can’t grow.
And without my meds…
I’ll try to come back soon.

Good hunting brothers and sisters.
