Addicted to HAZE - Haze only thread (Part 1)

Let us suppose that there isnt a market for those seeds in South Africa or, wherever, and that there is only value for those seeds in western markets. How is that value determined at the moment of purchase and are they part of the process of creating or determining that value? After all, how is value created or determined?

There is no reason to go into Marx’s, Smith’s, or Ricardo’s Labor Value Theory, specially in a market subjected to multiple forms of fetishism, itself a value creating factor according to Marx, dubious marketing and even production practices, and filled with an uncertainty of origins of products (which happens to also be a negative aspect when talking about authenticity), but we can say that the value of their Landraces is later transformed when they make it into our economies. How is that value transformed? what are the material conditions for an increase in such value? is there a process of labor and time that justifies that increase in value? Do we distribute the profit derived from that value fairly between producer and distributor/new producer?

A South African tribesman might not be stupid and at the same time not know the value of the Landrace seeds in modern western economies. Taíno indíans were thought to be stupid and child-like because they traded gold for glass. Gold did not have the same value for them as it did for Europeans. Since they did not have glass, they valued it more. This implies that we would either trade only with people from the Global South on an ethical manner- be it by only trading with people that know that we will turn whatever it is that we are charged by 200% or more in profit and sell it to us at a price they deem just, or by us paying over the price that they ask for while taking into account our own expenses and profitbability. Is it called Fair Trade? I highly doubt Arjan was practicing Fair Trade.

I will not go into what is best and if it always correlates with the most expensive product on the market because I think it is a much more complex conversation and maybe we should all reflect on that before having that type of conversation, specially so that we don´t fall into the absolute relativism of ¨everything is subjective¨ or into the bad habit of taking things for granted and suppose that the most expensive product is the best, even when we know that the cannabis world has turned into a hype machine of dubious marketing practices.

My 2 cents on that topic. Sorry if it is deemed off topic (it is).

Also, I’m currently growing some SSH F3 and the effects are great but trimming it is gonna be painful lol

Bandaid Haze is a good representation of worked NL5 and I’m growing some of that too. I can speak on anything I haven’t grown

The haters post has been removed.

okay I understand that I am not welcome in this thread. no problem. I dont have to post anything here in the end. not big deal. thanks to those who supported me, you can see me in my juicy thread. cheers.

I asked mod to remove all of my posts with pics, because when it is taking as marketing, I dont want it to be here… please remove all my posts from this thread, so poor guys dont get sick of me. LOL. thanks.

There is some great information being shared in this thread. Unfortunately, the random bouts of persistent bickering buries much of the value.

Life is short. Winning at the petty battles in life, while producing a sense of gratification, will mean little once time passes us by.

Please keep this thread topical and contributory. I think we can all agree that each of us enjoy respectful debate and learnings.

But @hempy , what do you think about this mangoziness coming all away through? Might it be from the supposed South Indian influence or might be from another line.
Asking this cuz Manga Rosa always was a reputable landrace from Brazil where the landraces where introduced by French sailors using indian sativa’s for rope and Africans who brought landraces from Africa in those hell slavery times

Cuz in mine piloting they appeared from shantis NH line, nothing related to Manga Rosa

I dont enjoy when my thoughts are interpreted as marketing, just because of me selling seeds. so stupid.

then any thought I would like to express, even criticize something, can be misinterpreted like that. great tool for those who would like to silent me.

thats why I ask you, if you agree with these methods and yes, you agree whit it, because you remove my post where I express my opinion that somebody is my hater, and to be sincere I have lot of haters, that is the destiny of pioneers, so thats why I asked you to be honest, and delete all my posts here. because you, I mean OG, like when I contribute pics and information, but when somebody doesn’t like that, that somebody will flag it as marketing whenever that somebody doesnt like anything what I think or say. I dont feel free, I understand this their tactics and plain manipulation as opposite to free speech and that is not acceptable for me… you support snitches and haters in their activity. so sad. so be man please and delete all my contributions in this thread please. I am totally calm and I dont see any drama like you.

I can see how it could be perceived as a conflict of interest. That is why most breeders stay off the forums or in their own sponsored threads when talking about these things because it can come back to bite them in the ass.

Once something is for sale, the doubt can start.

@MAHAKALA I am new here and do not know the ins and outs
of this site nor the individuals that make this site a welcome shore
in a sea of turbulence and although I am not into the negative bantering,
I am into reading and learning from your posts.
Would be unfortunate for all if you stopped sharing your knowledge and
experiences.
I am being presumptuous maybe but, if you were doing something “not correct”,
the mods would let you and the folks at OG know what’s up and act accordingly.

I am not taking “sides” in the ongoing “banter”, just letting you know, I for one,
appreciate your contributions and would like to continue reading your contributions.

Ironic in the extreme , when you consider that there’s no definitive answer as what haze is or isn’t… Being a polyhybrid of dubious ancestry , bred by illegal growers doesn’t help either . Depending on breeder & direction they chose a virtual cornucopia of genetics . Then the added Dutch influence with assortied Indicas & Skunk etc . We got all the makin’s of a 3 - way goat fuck .

Your whole “woe is me” spiel is played out.

This thread shouldn’t be closed because one person can’t abide by rules.

Moderators would’ve never been involved if you had only followed the rules like other seed makers have

Mahakala, developing your own following of haters (your description) in rapid succession and labelling others as such because they disagree with you is:

a problem of your own making.

You have been informed in PM of the site expectations, rules, and FAQs. You were also informed on how to handle commercial intent if that is your purpose and we also asked you to avoid promoting further drama … yet here we are.

You’ve been silenced but can reach out to the moderation team for additional information.

It’s all 6 degrees of Dave Watson anyway. Can someone give me a brief rundown of how his story has changed over the years in a timeline or something? or have a thread that goes into it. Seems to be more that he casually and vaguely posted some things and then added details onto the vague outline, and people scream retcon.

And is the claim by oldtimer1 that he had haze seeds direct from a commune in santa cruz area that were not from Sam have any actual weight? or is it a claim where we have to trust in the narrator’s legitimacy? ?

What do you think the statement means? @hempy

Sequencing the DNA, like DJ Short do back in the days to prove his point (his blueberry used everywhere on a large scale), can break these looping dramas from another age i guess.

If it’s not already done and ignored actually ^^, not really my interest.

There is a great thread on Mr nice forums about haze and a bunch of different stories and changes to stories that came from STSM.

Take it all with a grain of salt. I question and question again anyone who is selling seeds. There is a lot of fighting and bickering in the haze threads so I would pull info you need from people who don’t have a dog in the fight.

BigHerb on mr nice used to ask all the hard questions. I wish he would show up here

Thanks for this!

This is kind of the reason I’m thinking about getting as many different Hazes that I can find and then growing them all together. There’s really no other way of getting to the bottom of all the stories and legends

Eyewitness accounts are considered the least reliable form of historical evidence. When the eyewitness accounts get written down, people take sides and loops of “well my team said this and this is our stance on history, come at me hater” without any really evidence to prove or disprove claims are bound to develop.

its the sad nature of the humans, we are faulty. at the end of the day, we don’t know if neville bought seed from Sam (as some like Neville reported) or if he bought some of Sams less desirable clones and followed on his promise to not release any pure crosses and just do hybrids (as others like Sam and Chimera claim). that inability to really even set the stage for the narrative means its just hearsay.

We do know its all from sam and his contacts.

bigherb’s article is amazing, but vague on how bigherb (who is just an internet guy, not a big grower or connected person) tracked down people and got his interviews. Do you know that chain of events?
