Addicted to HAZE - Haze only thread (Part 1)

Also, i to wish @hempy would release more of his seeds to the world. Make an impact bigger than yourself, you are a small scale grower and getting older. You have seeds of great value and could distribute your seeds to the types of folks who do seed runs and distribute seed for free or for the cost of shipping. Sure, some will get used in for profit stuff, but the genetics will be out there in many hands and be able to make a difference.
hmm, where should we start to look?

This is why I wish the community could get together to build a database of the cannabis genome. More could be done by DNA comparison than any other way and the fact of the matter is, DNA does not lie. By comparing land race DNA profiles with the mess of poly-hybrids, the REAL story of lineage could be built and there is no way to deny it.

These are the terpenes you find in frankincense, but keep in mind there are different kind of phenotypes among Frankincense resin.

The purple Haze which was sold in the coffeeshops in the early 90s had more a nag champa incense kind of smell. That isn’t the aroma I smell nowadays, which is more church frankincense kind of aroma.

I’ll distribute the hempy clone(s) in the states if needed. Can’t even flower them out myself but rather see them grown and enjoyed than not.

Large percentage of α-amyrin and β-amyrin. Interesting.

I wonder how common either of those are?

Terpene panel via MCR:

  • alpha-Bisabolol
  • delta-3-Carene
  • Caryophyllene-Oxide
  • Eucalyptol
  • Guaiol
  • Isopulegol
  • Linalool
  • cis-Nerolidol
  • Ocimene
  • alpha-Pinene
  • alpha-Terpinene
  • Terpinolene
  • Camphene
  • beta-Caryophyllene
  • para-Cymene
  • Geraniol
  • alpha-Humulene
  • D-Limonene
  • beta-Myrcene
  • trans-Nerolidol
  • beta-Ocimene
  • beta-Pinene
  • gamma-Terpinene

If the above list is the typical panel, maybe these are simply being missed in a wholesale fashion.

Fellow brothers I feel pointless a fight as the more we spend time on discussing the more we are loosing grip over decaying hybrids.
I live somewhere in South America and we had only bricked sativa’s at the most.
Many as striking as Haze.
But the point is. Something happened decades ago and I can assure Haze lines aren’t stable at all.
Finished two Evening Eves down here and one has a trippy and sugary mango, the other I didn’t give a shit at once , a tangy peppery odd smell but the kind of a lady that can make your airplane crashes.
I don’t and I will never believe haze lines are stable at all. But I do believe is a heck of an herb

Colombia was small in growing in the 1960s, at the end of the 60s load of Mexican seeds were send to the Santa Marta region, where it was inbred with a Colombian variety, which was grown there for quite sometime. In 1977 there was an introduction of Thai genetics into Colombia. The real Colombian variety is long gone.

The few Colombian landraces I’ve grown, have all been on the fruity to berry, sour to sweet, spectrum. The more frankincense type landrace cultivars have all been African in my experience. It’s not like I’ve grown all cultivars in the world. But I find it interesting :man_shrugging:

Pz :v:t2:

After 15 years of haze thread wars, I really don’t care about the history anymore. Sam said, Nevil said, Tom said, who cares? Do Sam and Nevil (when he was alive) even remember accurately? I have seen so many of these threads go to shit, usually with one common denominator.

All I care about is the effect and as cannabis effects everyone differently it is just opinion. I like Thai effects and Colombian depending on mood.

Haze on!

frankincense can come from the sap of a tree most of us think of that as the traditional frankincense but it can also come from lavender and other flowers or pine or cypress trees.

They can extract sap from trees or extract oils and turn that into a solid.

i’m having trouble finding information on how to extract frankincense from lavender or pine. Can you please provide a link to this?

The scented Frankincense the Greek orthodox use is made by the monks in the monastery or monastery’s around Greece or in other Country’s they are found.

Like i said Greeks mainly use traditional Frankincense from sap but also use scented Frankincense.

Amassing the data is one massive task, disseminating it is an even bigger task.

I would like to see it done, but I dont think its going to make things easier, in fact, I think it will just make alot of people angry. The stories are more valuable than the facts. Extrapolating data and charting out the history of cannabis by the numbers robs it of the romance, which is part of the charm. Its like the wild wild west, complete with outlaws, tall tales, double crosses, hearsay, and even some truth sprinkled in there.

Frankincense and lavender are two distinct plants, and you cannot extract frankincense from lavender because frankincense is derived from the resin of the Boswellia tree, while lavender oil is extracted from Lavandula angustifolia or Lavandula officinalis plants.
