DC seed exchange are a great place to look. Have tons of breeders and seed banks with in website like HSC,bodhi, etc. one strain every one should grow once if you like really strong lime, sweet smell and taste. Bobbitchen beans. Chernobyl, slymer cut. Really easy plant to grow not finicky. Yields aren’t there but makes up in frost and taste, like dipped in powdered snow looking. Has others also.
A big piece of info is what are your preferences. Indica/sativia, fruity fuel spicy ect.
Cap Junky is killer. I’d be surprised if you don’t like that. Might not be the easiest plant, but it’s certainly not super finicky or anything. If you list your ideal plant, people on here will lead you towards what you’re looking for. Like mentioned above, list what smells/flavors you’d like and I think you’d be good to go. You already mentioned you’re pretty much looking for a hybrid, so that makes it easier. Then try some cuts like Bubba and Bandaid Haze to see if you like the up or down highs on their own and whatnot.
Thanks! So I will put it out there and hope for recommendations. First I have smkoed for 40 years. So, agree or disagree, I have built up some tolerance. As far as taste and or smell, eh it matter little to me. It isn’t wine. Having said that, something that tastes better than worse is a secondary benefit.
For me it is about the high. The quality, the character, the duration. I can split that into heady and physical. Heady to me is that sit on the couch and not move because my brain is elsewhere. I crawl inside, get highly cerebral and can insight to consciousness. Out of body if you will. A physical high to me, is I am out the door. You want find me sitting around. The day is beautiful. Nature is an extention of me. I want to ru, or bike, or lift. I want to be doing something that includes my body as much as my mind. More like a mushroom trip, if that makes any sense. I think I am an individual who is ADD, but never diagnosed. Marajuana seems to dial me in and allows me to focus and to maintain that focus. I easily drift from thing to thing, find it hard to follow through on tasks to a degree. But get me high and I can hyperfocus. Not over focus, but really key in and tune myself to whatever is at hand.
Now, the high doesn’t have to be both at the same time, though that isa bad thing. And at times I would prefere the quality of the experto be one or the other. I should add that I just really enjoy growing things. Gardens, houseplants, fruit trees, you know just growing. Learning and doun…and seeing results and beauty.
So any advice from the community is dearly app. THANKS!
Get cuts of TK and Chem 91. You should be pretty set with those. Maybe something like that Skunk Dawg from BDSC too.
Thanks! I will look into them. I am interested in seeds, too. I have nothing going at the moment. Clones seem to be an easy head start. I am not set up to crack seeds in any meaningful way. I mean I get you can layer in a wet paper towl, put on a saucer and then a zip lock bag. Keep them dark and at a happy temperature. That is what I use to do 25 years ago. Clones are different, I never messed with them. That alone is a draw to me. Eventually, like you, I will probably embrace both. If you know of any comprehensive source for info on how and what different strains prefer for growing technique and environment, plaease pass on where I can get that.
Oh man!! I just googled Chem91 clones/cuts. The prices are out of my ballpark. Any advice on where to get some reasonable? I mean maybe 300, 500 or 600 is reasonable relatively speaking, but that is awfully spendy for me. I will have to look around some. Thank you though for recommending a few strains.
If you hang around here long enough and get to know people you’ll find cheaper options for it. You could trade for it as well once you have some nice mothers of your own I’m sure.
I definitely will. I can only assume those prices are for plants not clones. I did find listing for TK clones for ~ $60.
Part of growing that artracts me is trying new things. Ideally, at some point, I want to get into genetics and monkey around a bit. But for now, proficiency with my basic skills and growing enough for my head.
I grew up farming and am farmiliar somewhat whith hybridization. Always enjoyed the process with berries and fruit trees. I can see marajuana providing a much of the same, down the road.
Look for I believe it is farmerJoe on ig
Someone speak up is I got the wrong one
The prices are for clones
That’s crazy expensive. I grew Chem 91 a handful of times. Someone here has it.
Good thing you were not buying clones 15-20 years ago or before. Those are friend prices
@Emeraldgreen Farmerjoe420
Is farmerjoe only on IG?
Pretty sure that is correct, only ig
FarmerJoe publisehes his tedting results… who else does?
To me thats absolutely worth a premium, espescially when you consider your collection and sharing/gifting/trading cuts with friends who also have collections. I wouldnt want to be the guy who screwed everybody up.
That said, FJ routinely has sales. Very reasonable if you ask me, there is a price on reputation and piece of mind.
Thats not a shot on Sun, but they have never shared testing.
Got my clones from Sun-Clone. Look healthy. No bugs. No mildew. A couple tight ones, a leggy one, one splitting the difference. Really nice root development. They arrived in less than 24 hours. A leaf tip or two were browned. Very, very minor, though. Perhaps a bit of light stress, maybe some nitrogen burn, or watering issue. I put them out for some fresh air yesterday. Flushed the soil while they enjoyed some sun and a gentle breeze. Overall, for $40 each delivered overnight, no complaints.
Got some good sized ones there! Keep us updated. Also check for sales at SunClone, they have a 4 for 100 deal sometimes, still free shipping
Sweet! Thanks for the heads up. I am pleased. My first dealings with them. Easy, I was able to use a promo code NP, arrived in less then 24 hours. Plants are happy. I will buy again.
I am not faulting that guy, Farmer Joe. I don’t know anything about him or how to and where to buy from him. Sun-clone was easy to find out about, cheap enough, arrived a promised. If you can tell me how to buy from Farmer Joe, I will gladly give him business. How do I get info and buy? Does he have a website? Thanks!
