Alibaba prices

Yeah I’ll see if I can find some major deals on AliEx. Seems like there could be some gems there for me.

I get that for sure! Upfront cost on leds is steep, but they’re starting to come down a little. Nothing wrong with hps and mh man! I used them for years. I just hated buying the bulbs for multiple lights every so often.

Yeah it’ll probably add up overtime. But I’m dying to get started ASAP. And I’m comfortable with them so it’ll help me get back in the swing of things.

I definitely plan to transition though. What are the biggest benefits of the leds in your opinion?

Yea man! Get to growing that dank!

They’re more efficient, as far as the light output vs the wattage. So, a good led light can put out the same light intensity as say a 1000watt hps but only pull 600watts from the wall. They tend to run a bit cooler as well which is nice for summer months depending on your location. Also, no buying bulbs every six months haha. And most of the nice ones have a full spectrum of light vs hps or mh which lean more towards the red and blue spectrums. I still love the bulb setups, because that’s what i started with and it’s nostalgic. Pick my brain anytime, I love talking about this stuff. I’m no expert though. Just an enthusiast haha

I was reading your post and then you deleted it lol! I think Mars hydro makes better products than vivosun, as far as lights go anyway. They’re one of the better Chinese brands. Same with spider farmer.

Sorry it was just two giant pictures basically. Was kinda obnoxious so I deleted it :joy:.

But it was basically the two cheapest quality grow kits side by side… led vs hps

The led set up was 200 more which isn’t terrible I guess. But it was 4x4 tent and the hps was a 5x5.

I would say my favorite part of good led is the dimmer function. When you dim an led you don’t change the spectrum unlike HPS/MH lights. This means adjusting intensity with a dial vs moving lighta physically up and down.

Hm that is an interesting aspect actually. I never really considered that.

@CARE_giver if you can, get the scorpion diablo. Trust me and thank me later, an incredible light, killer warranty, made in the US and grows absolutely stellar cannabis . The rspec is an amazing light as well

I love my 600 Rspec but have really been enjoying the Mars bar style lights.

And I don’t run HLG whatsoever. But two people in my crew run strictly HLG one diablos, one a mix. Top, TOP shelf goodness coming out of both that ANYONE would kill to have in the stash 100% . I absolutely love my lights but would also go HLG in a heartbeat , for the price they are exceptional. There’s still better, 100%. but these can hold their own with almost anything. And the made in the US is just an extra push IMO. Personally I love the bar lights for footprint, my plants far outside of the lights reach still produce, thick, dank, sticky, beautiful buds

Yeah, I have zero complaints with my HLG. Anyone should be happy with them. I only got into the Mars because they gave me the equipment. That said I gave my HLG leaning against the wall for last 2 grows and am perfectly satisfied with the Mars 650 and 800. Used the 650 in a 4x4 and 800 in a 5x5 but without Co2 can’t get them to full power. Definitely a step up in the Mars game. That said there are so many to choose from I really hold no brand loyalty.

If you wanna move that HLG ever, let me know. I’ve always wanted to try them and will be in the market for another good light in the near future actually As I’ve decided to dedicate a tent strictly to breeding after this current grow is finished. I agree IMO there are several companies I would gladly welcome into my setup. I’d just like to figure out which is the best fit for my particular needs before I purchase things to complete my ultimate setup in the fall/winter.

The cost of manufacturing in China is really low. That’s what we were sold as manufacturing went over there. Our price was supposed to go much lower with them as the manufacturer.
For example, my friend priced out air jorden sneakers over there. If he bought 4500 pairs, a shipping container full, the cost was 13 dollars a pair. I’m pretty sure they aren’t that cheap once here.

JUST bought a new light, it’s been up since Saturday. Plants LOVE it!

I upgraded my 300 watt LED since it didn’t have the footprint I wanted for flower.

I got one with 450 watt draw, on board Infrared and ultraviolet with separate dial dimmer for the UV.

I’m in Canada, company is in US. They shipped it to me in a way I paid no duties or taxes and they also gave me a discount just for asking.

Sonofarm is the company who’s lights I will buy from now on I think.
