I love duolingo!

I combined that with watching movies and listening to music in the same language to help with ‘mi espanol’.

I was making quick progress in French reading books. Builds vocabulary like crazy but it’s hard when you can’t practice by talking to people. Maybe Spanish is the ticket :upside_down_face:

Took Spanish 2 years in high school, my wife took it all 4 years, and I speak and understand more than she does. I’m not fluent by any means but I can usually communicate.
Note: I graduated in '98 she graduated in '99

Learn to speak Russian…

I do OK with German. I took classes near my town for a couple years. But I also did duolingo every day. It really is helpful!
Also, I watched Sesame Street in German and read kids books.

I went to French school but I’m learning Spanish and it both helps and doesn’t help. Verbs are kinda the same but there are false friends that make no sense so if I get confused and throw out some French trying to be understood it doesn’t work.

I grew up with English and was an exchange student in high school where I had to quickly learn French. I lived in Quebec and also in France as I continued my studies in college. I was fully bilingual but that was decades ago and I haven’t stayed on top of it. I understand what I hear but now have to translate in my head before I can respond. I used to think and dream in French…

I’ve also studied German, Russian, and Japanese. I know basic German alright, mostly because I started it in high school and took it at University - but also because my ex trained German Shepherd Dogs with both English and German commands. I’ve forgotten most of the Russian and Japanese I learned…
