Is there any current members growing in hempy buckets? I have some questions since this seems like a way to dip toes into hydro. I have temp hot issues so can’t do normal rez or won’t pay for a cooler to keep water cool. Inside temp yesterday was 87°. I’m also trying to do this with out spending a bunch of $$$.

No idea if you’re still interested but I do perlite hempies and its super easy to grow healthy plants at hydro speed. I’ll take a crack at your questions, more people should give hempy buckets a go.

FWIW I do them also . Like you I’d need a cooler for DWC or even DFT . If serious get both a good quality PH & EC meter / pen . Treat them like hydro & regularly check your feed & runoff . Unlike soil , mistakes / problems are quickly sorted out . My tap water is very soft , so I use Maxi series or Jacks 321 . Solution grade gypsum + epsom if additional Ca / mg needed .

Yeah i am currently growing 1 plant in a all perlite hempy bucket. I use osmocote+ prins mixed in with the perlite as fertlizer so its water only. My octopots are blowing it out of the water but thats too be expected . Still producing a really nice plant with no issues.
