I did not run them long enough to show gender before flip, but I have 2 cuts of everything. I plan to do a seed run and then use the cuts for any intentional chucking to F3 and crossing with some others.
Thanks @JAWS - they are never ending fun at this point. I still can’t believe how hard these two have bonded - Rosie is such a great big sis, even during teething.
Well I think I figured out my bud rot issue. Certainly high humidity but I thought something else had to be going on. Was cleaning and realized my fans were plugged in the light timer - so stagnant every night, all night. Nice job, me. I can’t believe that is a mistake that took me this long to make, there can’t be too many left lol
These blueberry milk continue to flower on day 5. I picked out one boy so far. Also one of my cuts was trash so I took some more to be safe. But most cuts still look nice, and quite a few have shown roots. Those with no cap have roots.
Nice growing Basement Gardens
Sorry to hear about that bud rot - it happens. Glad you got some Mothers Milk and Blueberry Milk in flower now !
Real interested in how the Blueberry Milk turn out. I used to have a freebie 5 pack of those from 2nd Generation, but I unwisely traded them away. Glad you are doing a repro with them, and with the Mothers Milk
Hey @Doober you are welcome to whatever I have luck with, for sure. I am eyeing both the rhubarb and the orange Julius soon.
Did you see 3Thirteen is going to release some new strains? Looks pretty good, I will most likely grab them. Good luck on your outdoor, it looks better than mine
Thanks man
Yeah, I also see the new release from 3Thirteen - looks good
And the rhubarb is coming soon for sure
By the way, I’m sending some love for your outdoor
Is that the F3, @doober? I think I might do some blueberry milk crosses, and that sounds like a fun one to cross to. Same with the rhubarb, I hate to not increase those!
Ok, I have finally decided my direction, well, the plants were going to decide that.
All news is good news.
Mother’s Milk F2 I grew 10, got rid of one, and so was left with 9. I got 5 girls and 4 boys (hooray). Number 6 was by far the best grower, it wasn’t even close. She is a girl.
All cuts have rooted except I think 2 of them, but they should be ok. I’ve culled all of the boys, because I want to be careful with contamination, and am flowering a couple of males of another strain. For that reason I am only moving ahead with the girls and will use cuts for my Ma Milk work, whatever that is, following the blueberry milk run.
So those are in the flower tent, so I can see what they do and make some selections based on that. They all grow decently so far. I plan to take 2 of them and toss them in with the BB milk males, to make a blueberry milk x mother’s milk.
Speaking of BB milk, here they all are. Boys have blue tape and girls have pink. The 2 boys are the 2 wider-leafed and the girls are skinnier. Great growers.
Hey hey trichomes, one of the best all/around plants I have ever grown, @JAWS really nailed that meds line.
They took really well to LST, had some great vigor, liked to be fed but not picky. Flowers were everywhere, I think it is one of the 2 or 3 highest yielders for me. I grew out 3 girls, 2 leaned cherry and 1 leaned chocolate. The cherry was a very sweet, artificial type of aroma on both of those girls. The chocolate yielded the best, and wasn’t as “loud” but the cocoa scents really came through as it dried.
The high itself is for relaxation and rest, to me anyway. Nice hard hit to the head - the lazy kind. Then a nice body effect comes in. For me it’s a classic indica hybrid.
It is in my regular rotation, I hope you grow it so I can see.
Awesome! thank you for the write up too. That pretty much solidifies it for me. I’ve got some stuff lined up still… you know how that goes. I’m thinking next spring I’ll pop some of the Cherry Chocolate Meds. I was kinda hoping for more a sativa leaner but that’s all good, this one and the ASS cross sound pretty stellar.
I have found boy parts on both mother’s milk female 2 and 7, so off they go. My enthusiasm for anything but doing a selected F3 with the big girl and my favorite boy is gone for these beans. But still happy to grow a few girls out and keep the boy cuts around for a bit.
All my cuts rooted, I was able to half the # getting rid of duplicates and the naughty ones I just mentioned. I am keeping a cut of all blueberry milk and ma milk minus the 2.
Pollen is flying in the reproduction (?) tent, 2 blueberry males, 3 blueberry females, and 2 ma milk females. Just making seeds and collecting pollen for later use. I have been using this method and am making a bunch of smaller use containers.
Useful Mother’s Milk F2 - well I was unhappy that 2 of the 10 plants I grew were girls with boy parts, so I have abandoned any sort of seed increase. #6 is a wonderful female, so I am keeping her for now and see how she flowers. I also put two of the female Mother’s Milk F2 in the pollen tent, just for some personal seeds because it was good timing.
As for the pollen tent, I took both bb milk boys out after both collecting and storing a decent amount, and ensuring the girls in the tent were all well-touched by pollen. It is a bit early, I guess day early 20’s but everything appears quite seeded. There are the 3 female bb milk and the 2 female MM F2 previously mentioned.
While my MM F2 seeds didn’t go as hoped, the MM F1 “thing” is going well. The backstory is that the person that I purchased the blueberry milk and Useful MM F2 packs from also sent along original Mother’s Milk F1 seeds in a vial. Based on this person’s past I am quite confident they are what he says. Anyway, I have been coddling these slow plants and can now confidently say that I have 4 of them!
1 is a much healthier plant than the other three, and she is a female. Not sure on the other three, just trying to grow them enough to get cuts and then grow them out.
But first I need to flower some blueberry milk that is not meant for seeds. I will grow each of the gals but 3 is the winner already, she smells lovely compared to the others. I also have two latecomers to the party, both very slow but workable, blueberry milk 6 and 7, which were not part of the seed run. Also flowering more of the mother’s milk.
Here is my exciting Mother’s Milk F1 crew, standing 4 strong. The leader is a girl and I have just potted her up to flower, having taken nice cuts. The other 3 are taking they sweet time.
The blueberry milk seeds are coming along at 3.5 weeks. I found the one I want to flower the most, #3, she smells better than any plant I have put my nose on in a long time. I am going with “sweet blueberry candy” to describe it. The other two are fine, one tends more to the body odor smell and the other doesn’t have much scent. I’ve seen this myself a few times now in Mother’s Milk and crosses where there is almost no scent.
And my somewhat disappointing Mother’s Milk F2 run isn’t so bad now that I have #6 well into flower. She is structured beautifully, quite frosty, and smells very lightly sweet. Not milky though. I think I will work with this one a little bit too.
And razzberry lemonaid from the last bodhi drop is down to 4 girls, and they have quite an early stink. Reminds me of Zkittles terps a little bit, it smells like the neon sunshine I grew last year.
My seed-making tent is at 1 month of flower today. The “blueberry milk” as a male refers to both males 4 and 5, pollen was shared/crossed with two males, both quite similar. They are long gone, but they offered plenty of pollen.
And here is my only keeper from the Mother’s Milk F2 pack from Useful, great vigor, structure, frost and terps. I love this one, I plan to keep this and blueberry milk 3 around.
