Basic “Base” soil mix for either organics or salt.

Just as the title says here’s a fairly basic “Base Soil” soil mix that works equally well for both organic and salt fertilizer growing…

It’s basically equal parts coco/peat-moss, 30% by volume Perlite, with added Humic Acid, Norwegian Sea Kelp, Magnesium Sulfate(Epsom Salt), and Azomite(micro nutrients)

You’ll need…

1 x 3.6-4 cu ft bale of ProMix or Sunshine #4 with added myco

4 x 11lb/5 kg compressed blocks cocotek or whatever brand coco you prefer.

1 20lb/Large bag EWC/Earth Worm Castings

1 x 4 cu ft bag of chunky Perlite

2 cups Norwegian Sea Kelp

1 cup Azomite (Micro Nutrients)

1 cup Magnesium Sulfate (Epsom Salt)

3 TBSP Humic Acid

We start with soaking the coco…I use hot water to help soak in faster, and totes. After completely expanded, mix half the coco and peat-moss together. Once about half the coco and peat are mixed I add in the Kelp, Azomite, Humic Acid, and Epsom Salt…mix a bit more. Then add in the remaining coco/peat along with the EWC, and Perlite(about half the bag) Mix again thoroughly until a even consistency.

For mixing I use either a large kiddie pool, or just plastic or tarp on the ground…and that’s it!

A great base soil for either organic tea, salt based, or any method of feeding.

Happy growing

Great info, thanks!

About how long do you think this would last before needed supplementing?

It would just be a all around basic “base soil” to amend accordingly.

OG is right on…you can use for seedlings or clones but will need proper nutrients within a week or so.
