It is the almost clear water from the center of the coconut ,not coconut milk. I am going to get some today. I have 1 Candy Kush thriving under a light in the abode after loosing one to a cat or rodent out in the garden and three more to a bad hail storm. Started this one late but hoping she matures and can be dried and cured before winter sets in.
Thank you. Very good info.
Have at it @Desertdiva. The conversation had evolved to questioning whether or not the pasteurization process eliminated most of the benefits to be gained from using coconut water, which is why I went looking for more info on the issue. It would seem that the longer the shelf life of packaged products, the less potential benefit to be had. Being in Canuckistan and given that finding coconut water that is pasteurized is unlikely (can’t be trucked here before expiration date), I’m pretty skeptical.
Get back to us with your findings.
This is why I use the freeze dried horticultural grade powder from Build a Soil. It’s the next best thing to fresh coconuts. Pasteurization and preservatives make it less effective.
That’s why I suggested fresh coconut unless you really really really want organic certified buy some.of.the more expensive ones, if not your local Asian market should have some. Have been told that the green ones are the ones to go for as they are younger than the brown version with hard shell.
Peace
How long does a 1/2 pound last you?
Quite a while with my small garden. It’s usually a once a week treat and I only use a teaspoon or so per gallon of water.
