Best or Preferred T5 Seedling, Cloning, Veg Lights 2021?

I can’t swing LED’s right now. I was hoping as indoor lighting technologies advanced in my absence prices would moderate. OR, am I just looking in the wrong places?

I’m preparing to set up and I’m getting my ducks in a row.

For those growing now and using T5’s; which is best, which is preferred?

What are you using now and are you happy with them?

I found a few that I find interesting and around the price I’d prefer to pay.

There are these: iPower GLT5XXPANL4T4 4-Feet 6400K T5 High Output Grow Light in Four 4 Lamp Fixture - $94.53 amazon.com/iPower-4-Feet-6400K-Fluorescent-Fixture/dp/B00T0CPI7O

And these: Durolux T5 HO Grow Light - Four 4 Foot Lamps - DL844 - $115.99 amazon.com/4lamps-DL844s-Fluorescent-Hydroponic-Fixture/dp/B00HEYCRI8

And these: HYDRO PLANET T5 HO Grow Lights Eight 4 Foot Lamps - $169.99 amazon.com/4lamps-DL844s-Fluorescent-Hydroponic-Fixture/dp/B00HEYCRI8

IF you can refer a similarly priced and reliable grow performance LED grow light I’d be interested in seeing what you’re talking about.

I just can’t afford a $$$ LED starter/veg light. Nothing against $$$ LED grow lights. I understand the necessity of the $$$. I wish you all the best!

I’m am a Capitalist, I’m just a poor Capitalist!

Thank you in advance!

I’m not suggesting for you to buy a Phototron but I’ve been using Phototrons for seedlings, vegging and flowering, the P-trons uses T5’s…as of now I’m using a small P-trons for my seedlings and gonna be vegging them then to sex my plants. T5’s works great for seedlings and for vegging. I plan on growing outdoors this year. I’m not quite sure yet if I wanna set up a room for my 1K HPS.

I also added this light in my Phototron it was only$15 and it made a big improvement on my seedlings.

For veg I’m running a 6 bulb t5 with sylvania pentron 54 watt 6500k bulbs .

Plants seem to like it and grow relatively quick with minimal stretching .

Price if I remember it around 140 bucks .

One of my friends had one of those in like 2002… wow! Love what your doing with them!

On topic, agromax pure par bulbs, like $10 each for the 4’ , they are almost as good as led. I like a mix of t5 k values, so 2 pure par veg, 1 3200k and 1 5400k. Works amazingly well. Then flip to pure par flower for flowering, and the same 2 other bulbs.

For a similarly priced LED the Mars TS1000 is 210 CAD Think you'll get more ppfd per spent with this compared to T5s.

I have 2, will agree the ts1000 is awesome.

Sun blaze T5 lights are solid.

Otherwise used t5 fixtures on kijiji/craigslist if you’re really on a budget.

The led tubes dequillo posted are nice ive got em. Not flower lights but they will grow. Same for the durolux unit. I have 2 x 2’ ones and a 4’ 8bulb by them. Have held solid 4 years now in veg. Just replace bulbs when they go out. Ive even flowered under the 8 bulb its about 500w. But not comparable in penetration to hid or good leds but it will actually make decent buds.

If you want to talk about cheap but effective, I use Bathroom vanity light fixtures mounted on strips of wood, and household screw in led light bulbs some cfl reptile uvb bulbs to supplement spectrum, not needed but I got them cheap. 20-25w/sq.ft for veg, 30-35w/sq.ft for bloom.

Hello, my friend!

Do you show them here, or anywhere else, where I can see how you have them mounted? These great, and I can build a frame for them - I’m just wondering how you have done it.

Thank you so very much, old friend!,

I should not have included “Veg” in my title. I will have another light or lights for that. I just want to take them from seed or clone to Veg.

I usually just flower 1plant in my big P-trons …

That looks to be a great setup. While the fixture is available on the Amazons for $129, the T5 tubes are not.

I will keep this in mind.

Now that looks very interesting. It accomplishes my goal AND gets me into LED’s for a quite reasonable price of $159.99 for the whole setup, including thermometer/hygrometer, timer…etc…while it shows 2 yoyo’s, I’m not sure how many it comes with.

It’s sized right for my cloning machine!

Nice!

Thank you, IF I go for tubes and fixture separately, I will certainly consider these.

Again, thank you, @anon16977489 !
