Better suited nutrient system

If it helps at all, I have gallon jugs of everything liquid I use and have turkey basters for each. I mix everything in 20ish oz of water then dump that into 2 gallon cans to water. I mix the nutrients into the water on a scale so I don’t have to do any real measuring, just scale work and turkey basters. Not necessarily the simplest thing ever but pretty mess up proof

Let me preface by saying I’m an not affiliated with “Real Growers” in any fashion other than customer but there is simplicity in their “Grow Dots”. Mix 10-15g of Grow Dots per gallon of media, I use a coco/perlite/vermiculite mix, at transplant, and let her rip! You get 5-6 weeks of vegetative growth nutrients and it automatically shifts to flowering nutrients for the next 8-10 weeks, depending on how heavily you water through. Hit them with “Recharge” once a week and you get happy plants

Accessibility may be an issue as I think they’re only offered in the US and maybe Canada.

I am less trying to set it and forget than get back my weekend trips if anything I currently have an issue of staring in the tent too much. I dont mind watering but plant sitters are hard to come by where I am at

interesting did you just measure what like a certain amount of your nutes weigh? all the measurements in the guide I was following was by volume never considered using a scale

A ml is equal to a gram. So 15ml is 15g. I mix up 6ml of one thing, 20 of the next, 9 of one, then 12 and rock and roll.

I’ve been listening a lot to DGC and I’m pretty eager to try those grow dots for an outdoor run this year! I partially agree with nano in the sense that you do need to be able to tell what’s going on and with the set and forget sometimes you can forget to check and disaster happens. Everything is a learning curve tho. You can always get a 1 pot setup and do a side by side run to see how you like it and then add the rest as you go. If you get autopots just don’t get too lazy. It’s easy to get lazy with setups like that and checking your PH daily is a must do if your gonna have success

I shifted away from the GH Trio because of the Grow Dots. I keep some micro and bloom around in case a strain runs long because the Grow Dots will run out almost on schedule.

@joheimgrohen are you using then specifically indoor? I was looking at those extended grow dots for an outdoor CBD grow for family

Yeah strictly indoors. My H.O.A. would have a coronary if I tried to grow outside.

whats funny is I know atleast 2 of the neighbors next to me also grow but id still never grow outdoors here all it takes is one helicopter getting a little too close yaknow lol… I wish I could just grow in peace

I’m in a similar boat. Switching to octopots personally, just have to finish up the autofill system tonight. I think they’d be worth you looking into. Very simple physics based watering system no pumps needed, easy to go away for a weekend without worrying about watering or any electronic failure. They’re tall which is my only gripe so far, I have height constraints.

Edited to add I’m switching nutes to jacks 321, adding a 20 gallon reservoir, and using sunshine mix #4.

I’m a noob too, still learning with my first grow. But for nutrients I use Gaia Green 284 and 444, they’re slow release and it’s good for veg and flower. All you gotta do is mix it in when you transplant or plant a bean then top dress the soil with nutes after a couple weeks. I also use fox farm and they’re working fine in concert.

I actually dont have fox farm available locally id be interested what other soils people use cause buying fox farm on amazon is… kinda spendy for fancy dirt

I can recommend ProMix HP for a medium, drains well, ph balanced and contains no nutrients. You have full control over the feed.

For nutrients Mega Crop one part from Greenleaf Nutrients Europe – Greenleaf Nutrients Europe

It is a powder and you mix it by weight per gallon. They have feed charts, etc.

I would suggest GroBuckets and 5 gallon pails. It is a SIP system, bottom feeding from a reservoir, eliminates over and under watering issues. Fill and forget until the dip stick shows empty ! Amazon UK has a 3 pk for $62.00.

This is a Cafe Racer I’m currently growing with this system…

@Chuckeye I’ve heard a lot of good things about the sativa like high from Cafe racer could you reccommend her to anyone based off what you’ve tasted and seen throughout her growth cycles

Search YouTube for Buildasoil and Earthbox. I’ve been watching over the years and it looks like a fantastic system, especially for being so cheap.

He uses living soil, and top waters until the plants get established. Then he fills the reservoir and waits until it’s completely empty before refilling it.

For the past few years he’s been running them, and they have always gone really well.

Haven’t tasted her yet but even with topping and sideways training she’s a tall girl
