Black Lotus by Bodhi Co-Op Preservation seed run

Been a nice week of growth for the Black Lotus plants. The only one not doing great it the single survivor from the second seed pop. Its green, but not really growing atm. They’ve been mostly getting watered thru the capillary mat/juice jug res. Usually I refill it every morning. Only thing besides plain water has been the twice weekly compost teas/buddha grow.

Ive already had to go through and do another quick n dirty round of defoliation since they were totally overflowing the tent. If I had unlimited space, I would have instead potted them up into 5s to get real beefy, but I digress! All I took was the very inner leaves, it was taught to me as “clearing the chest cavity”, as well as any big older fan leaves. Then supercropped all the tops(about 6-7 per plant already) to hopefully keep them from getting too big on me. At this point, the main thing stopping me from dropping them info flower is lack of space in the 5x5. Luckily, there’s a good number of plants a week or 2 out from being ready to chop, so it wont be long. The goal is to make a crapton of seeds, and the extra veg time isn’t going to make that worse. All my veg and flower space is totally capped out currently, so it’s fair to call that a good problem.

While workin on the plants, I for sure noticed one looking extra Snow Lotus-like in structure. As well as having those long sererated leaves. Should also mention a couple are starting to show pre sex, but both are lookin pretty male-like, so well see! And of course, I forgot to take before pics again. After spending so many years never taking pictures of anything, and these days usually realize halfway through that I should have taken before pics. Its a strange adjustment lol.

And here’s them after about 12 hours. Just to show they arent totally mangled from the supercropping.

And finally here’s a little bonus plant from some recent Haze work. Found a really cool outlier purple pheno, but with all the Haze stank on it. Based on Bodhis Temple and Heavenly Sativa from Mass Medical. Dont judge me too hard lol, the MMS seeds were gifted to me, and I found an outlier non-hay pheno with an amazing effect that I mother’d out.

It is funny you say that about the MMS beans because someone gifted me a year ago Temple V2 x Heavenly Sativa(was said to be extremely potent) and I gave it away to someone on here cuz of the MMS association. Then you sent me the Temple V1 x Heavenly Sativa and it is almost like divine intervention.

Thats too funny! I guess I wasnt the only one that saw how similar they were lol. I will say the HS seemed to be really rough, and the vast majority were damn near unsmokeable. Made decent hash though. It was just that 1 plant that really stood out amongst the others. But I dont think thats any credit to MMS. Finding a diamond in the rough isnt the best breeder review lol.
That keeper with a good Temple male really dialed it in so theres really no hay in there. Which really threw me off, since you hear kooks like Tom Hill claiming theres no way to clean up haze lines. Which is clearly untrue, but never know until trying it out yourself haha

Glad I found this. I’ll be hanging out watching this grow. I can’t wait to see how it goes

Hey @BackyardBoogie420 . Those are beautiful plants. I understand what you mean about not taking pictures. I was just talking about a buddy of mine who got popped years ago for having a picture of himself standing next to a monster plant. The first rule I was taught 43 years ago was “never show your plants to anyone”. I still get a little paranoid when I post a picture. The world has changed.

I know a guy, not going to say who because I’m sure this is still frowned upon but… He had 8-10’ plants, grown outside, on crown land (that’s the part in not sure would be liked, lol). They were amazing to see and walk through. He only ever had 1 pic of them, he was in it be you could only see his back, with these two monster trees on either side of him… I was young and had to ask why, lol 🤦. It really was glorious, lol

I’m just amazed at how much growth can occur in a single season. Cannabis is a super-plant.

There’s a Mullumbimby Madness x Nevilles Haze cut going around the bay. Australia seems like it would be a similar climate to the bay. Someone told me that it was kept for over ten years cuz it was so good. You can find crosses of it on here like Malawi Gold for instance. Could be something to think about for outdoors in the future for me. Don’t mean to derail the thread here. Back to Black Lotus!

(sounds like a cool outdoor project) Yep back on track

Hey @CocoaCoir . I think I read that Kangativa could get 10-15 pounds of smoke off just 1 of those. Truely legendary.

Yep, really instructive topic; :+1:

Sounds about right! Ive seen a few 10-16 pounders over the years. Biggest were about 25 feet around and 15 feet tall in mid july just barely showing sex. In 8x8x4 ft plots of amended soil on a hillside. They were so big and scattered around the property, at first glance they didnt even look like ganja plants. That spot ended up getting raided, and the cops didnt even find half the plants. It was really brilliant

TBH im not entirely sure! But since its an old ghani, I assume it means it gets real dark in flower? Im only a couple years into my pre-OG ghani obsession, so Im learning myself lol. After years and years of just growing OGs like everyone else I knew.

I have learned that the MMxNH clone is not resistant to thrips or spider mites outside. Makes sense.

You can get all range of colors in Afghanistan from green to purple to red to black. Also most afghans go 10-12 weeks not 7-8-9.

Check this out.

They have whole fields of plants on there.
