Bodhi Seeds - Goji OG Crowd Source F2 Preservation (closed)

Not sure if you guys have seen this article or not, but found it interesting that it mentioned low temps as being a primary cause for herm behavior. Seems like a bunch of members who did have herm plants on this run mentioned their temps being low, so I found the correlation interesting.

I live near one of the largest rice producing regions in the country and I can’t find rice hulls except on Amazon! WTF?

Those bales tend to be dirt cheap but the shipping can be very high. If you find a good source to cut out unnecessary amounts of shipping then rice hulls can be cheaper than those large perlite bags (cheaper than above link as well). It’s my understanding that they also don’t properly fit on a pallet due to the sizing of the bales.

It’s worth noting that storage can be annoying as well. Those PBH bags outdoors do not hold up at all to UV exposure beyond a couple months and quickly become a substrate of choice for mold when rained on, becoming less ideal as a drainage/porosity amendment. When covered they can be very attractive for mice as well. I think I’ve read that some people began calling them Mice Hulls after dealing with storage related infestations. Just something to consider and factor in if you’re planning on storing these bales long term.

The brew-store recommendation sounds like a very good idea if none of your local garden centers or farm supply stores carry it at a reasonable price.

A1 clone

C5 clone

I decided to take one clone from each of the males: 1, 6. 7 & 9. and up pot them to 1 gallon pots and grow them out for the Two Female clones.

Here’s my two stable phenos: R4 and R8. Both are shorter phenos - R4 is the lankiest of them all with a berry candy resin rub that today was a bit more berry chocolate. R8 is similar but with stronger structure, not the greatest branching, and until today a bit mild in resin rubs. Today it smelled like OG and Berry mm. Both had some yellowing of bottom fans from me letting them get bone dry, R4 took it the hardest of all 6. Watered today with a drop of molasses, hopefully that helps get them back on track.

A1 is something else. i’m starting to see why there’s so much hype about this cross. coffee/chocolate mixed with that artificial cherry/raspberry creme - a box of chocolates smell.
she’s got a nice deep serration pattern on the giant fan leaves.

she’s lanky, but not too bad.

these buds are juuuuuuust about ready for some pollen.

What a cool idea, chopped the males top and hung over a tray like that, how’s that work for you collecting? Seems like a good amount of pollen on there

I smoked Goji OG about 7 years ago. A friend bought or was one of the first in Chile to buy bodhi, she chose Goji, she stayed with a mother, her smoke was between red fruits, then moss. Nice memories with Goji, the mother was lost, a pity. Good luck in your reproduction. Greetings.

Works pretty good. I do that and let the bottom male flowers get a bit more mature and smack them around again in 10 days or so. Should pollinate any new open spots on the females as well… at least that’s my theory.

A plexi/acrylic sheet works much better but just didn’t have one near by when I chopped the top.

Nice I heard tinfoil works well in a pinch, I used parchment paper myself my last go round, worked well enough

We make huge circles out of the board you do school projects etc. on .( pretty high right now can’t think of the name for the life of me) cut a straight line down one side and tape/staple together once you reached the desired funnel/cone feature. Then take the entire plant and hold upside down over top. Then tap the main stalk with “whatever”( I use a mini bat I got from a blue jays game 12 years ago) beneath the huge “funnel” we’ve made we place large glass snap lid containers. Fill as much as you would like . You can then do as you please for storage etc. I first saw this done 14 years ago, and have adopted it for myself and several others.
