@DougDawson I was wondering “How is there a car movie that I didn’t watch as a kid?” and then I saw there’s no Dodge or Plymouth in the movie, so my dad wouldn’t have looked twice at it. Got to see ‘Vanishing Point’ though. That was way more appropriate for kids.

I am going to try to collect pollen from the stud I select, however, so far I have not had much success collecting pollen. It seems to float away instead of landing on my collection plate/bowl/parchment. So far I feel like my most successful pollen collections have been wiping pollen off leaves with a Q-tip.
I have no idea how @DougDawson was able to collect soooo much PPPollen. Superhuman.

This will be a really interesting project! Can’t wait to see them grow! But why not do an open pollination? You gathered so much variety, it would be a nice preservation run.

I think the idea is to find the most Bubblegum-dominant phenos and then do a pollination with those. Some of those seeds have things other than Bubblegum in them, like the GPS seeds I sent in have Stardawg in them, as well. I mean, even a super-Bubblegum dominant Bedega Bubblegum will have some Stardawg in it, since that was the male used in the cross, but you know what I mean…

It will be interesting to see how much crossing to a “bubblegum” male replaces the stardog genes. Should take care of at least the Y chromosome.
The BOGglegum is also BOGbubble x NL. So a similar situation.
Doing an open pollination would make knowing the parents impossible. The goal is to select towards bubblegummygoodness!
Also a part of this was to create something “new” so that it could be shared freely. Not a reproduction of past stuff.
Finally some of these strains only have 4 beans representing them, so not really enough to do a “preservation”.
Yeah, that’s what I was getting at in my last post before I just kind of trailed off haha! Especially with those GPS seeds, which from everything I’ve read, tend to turn out Stardawg-dominant, no matter what the cross (although I realize someone on this thread, think it was indoornesian, said they found a very Bubblegum-dominant plant from the Bodega Bubblegum cross). I’ve only grown two of Gu’s crosses so far, the California Cannon (Tahoe x Stardawg) and the Stardawg f2. The Cali Cannon didn’t remind me of either Tahoe or Stardawg; they were just kind of weird plants haha. And the Stardawg f2 didn’t remind me of any of the Stardawg I used to smoke.
Still, from everything I’ve read from other people’s journals, that Stardawg male Gu uses tends to dominate whatever it’s crossed with. So, yeah, @Dirtron I think a little selective breeding would be the best course of action. Just took me a while to get to the point haha!

Hmm, I would have thought the BOG seeds would be up there but I would bow to your expertise on that as I have not grown any of them.
