Ya maybe Im misunderstanding but to me thats saying a loose leaf on the floor counts as a plant.
Weird and confusing
I’ve never understood why they feel the need to do that. Legalese seems very technical and smart to the outsider, but really it’s just an unnecessary way of stating very simple things. You could easily write a clear definition of what a ‘plant’ is in like 20 words but they go out of their way to make it ambiguous.
Ironically it would likely save them government many hours and dollars to write these things out plainly.
Dammnit!
Schedule 1, #2
“Any substance or mixture of substances that contains or has on it any part of such plant.”
Well shit, that would seem to describe an unrooted clone as soon as you stick it. It would also seem to describe tissue culture in vitro specimens in the unrooted explant and callus stages. So that sucks. HOWEVER…!
It would also describe trimmings thrown in a compost pile or in the garbage. It would apply to them with a comparable level of technical accuracy, despite obviously not being at all what natural language would describe as a plant anymore.
Soooooooo nice, great, good one there guys. Way to write the law so stupidly that you have defined plants and the garbage from trimming them with an inseparable classification. That’s not a giant fucking oversight or anything.
And yeah, would they count the bits in the garbage or the compost heap? Would that sound reasonable in court? You wouldn’t think so, I mean, if you like trusted the police to never fuck around on technicalities ever… or something equally improbable.
But really now, nice job asshats.
Any updates on current processing times?
I mailed in my new application via registered mail. Confirmed Health Canada received it 2nd week of September. I called 1 month later to inquire about processing times and was informed my application wasn’t even in their system yet and to call back in 2 weeks. I just called back now, 7 weeks after they received my application and I am still not in the system. I got no explaination why, just told to give it another 2 weeks and call again.
Do you guys think its possible they lost my application? Does it normally take 2 months just to be entered into their computer system?
I’ve heard many people online state that I can start growing with just my doctors prescription, while I wait for health canada to provide my license. I don’t think this is actually true but can anyone confirm?
There was a crazy covid backlog it took 5 months to get my application back. I was growing before I got my license just don’t get busted he heheheh. If you are already approved and your license expired waiting on their ass to renew it, they keep your old license valid until the new one is approved as long as you resubmit within I think 30 days, but I know that doesn’t help you, yours is a new application.
Your correct once the licence is sent off your Dr prescription is proof that your good to grow . No need to wait on the paperwork it can take months for them to process a friend sent his off at the start of the pandemic checking that it was received because the tracking info said it had arrived according to health Canada they had no record .
He eventually had to resend everything a second time there excuse was they had staff working from there homes and it got misplaced .
He was told to start growing and any issues to have the police call health Canada in regards to the slow processing times.
Almost 3 months later…lol…glad I sent mine in when I did.
My initial license took 2-3 months to get…my renewal seems to be taking much longer. Perhaps because of covid.
Yeah, the system is flawed. Not just the ACMPR but the entire healthcare system in Canada. I lived in California for 7 years. Paid around 600USD quarterly for healthcare coverage but didn’t have to wait for anything. What takes months in Canada gets done same day in the US. I could meet with 2 different doctors and pickup my prescriptions all in the same day, all done in the same building.
My brother had to wait 15 months just to get an MIR done in Canada. He ended up getting one done overseas when he was on holidays. MIR sowed he had a small stroke from his accident… imagine waiting 15 months to find out you had a mild stroke WTF.
I think it’s a bit of a lottery depending on what you need and where you live, I had 2 MRI this year and I have only had to wait 2 weeks for one and 3 and a half weeks for the other.
My first ACMPR took 8 months to get, the second took less than 4 week’s from sending it, which shocked me lol, the next took 4 months.
Shiskaberry is right you can start growing once you have sent off your paperwork as your doc has written the prescription.
Delay can also be from the police check that you have no criminal record, they sometimes take time to respond.
FYI I STILL haven’t heard anything back form them yet.
9 weeks and counting, they better extend their previous 6 month extension, for later expiry dates than sept 1 or whatever it was originally…wonder if O’Toole and the Conservatives feel the same way about the ACMPR as Harper did??? I’ll wait quietly for the renewal…
still shows 6 month extension for licences expiring between march 13 and september 30 2020, what the fuck about the October and later? A post sweat extension coming probably…what a fuck show. Maybe they are cross referencing all the harvest season arrests first, there was a lot of ‘overgrowing’ legal allowances this year.
Ya Ive never experienced what you are saying. Maybe in some places I donno.
Not thats its much cost in the grand scheme of things but kinda getting tired of playing this game every yr.
Wonder what would happen in court if u just didnt renew your license moving forward? Like ffs I need my medicine and its been authorized by doctors multiple times. I feel like the risk of not renewing is minimal. Hmmmmmm
Ill prolly bite the bullet and conform to the mans rules anyway hahah
with “legalization” came a whole raft of new rules. Rules with jail time up to 14 years! At minimum I would wait for everything to calm down over in the law enforcement zone before lighting it up with 12 plants illegally. Nowadays they are so chuffed up with new loot from the govn’t to enforce their crazy new laws that they called “legalization” that they are ready to pull the trigger on any cannabis investigation. Nothing too extravagant for them, burning up liters of jet fuel just to bust someone’s 100 plants on the mountainside. Prrrrrrrrricks! I use carbon filtration the cops never come around to check on me, but still. Licensed for 100 plants, growing 12! Wheeeeeee!
So my family doctor will write the prescription…
Do I just do the forms myself or is it still better to get one if these agencies to shuffle it?
And I gotta get the copy of the form that doesn’t specify property owners permission… The one I have printed requires it, so I’ll have to go digging for the correct one.
you can do the forms yourself just make sure to print out all pages and only fill in the ones you need to complete. If you don’t need owners permission, there is a checkbox that skips it. Make sure you have the “latest ACMPR” forms from health canada along with the prescription form from the doctor. I always call it CAMPR!
That depends on how much he loves pharmaceuticals some doctors won’t, so shop around for a helpful doctor if yours doesn’t, or go to one of the agencies. My doc offered it to me without me even asking, I have friends whose doctors said no they don’t think it’s of any use. You can ask for a referral to a pain clinic or someone else like the agencies, or try and educate your doc if he says no.
We’re back growing at his recommendation Turned out to be the only thing working for my migraine/cluster headaches… Younger doctor, my old GP now retired would have been very much in the other camp.
I just received my renewal today. I submitted the paperwork in late June. It doesn’t expire until Oct 26/2021.
