I removed every news station on my tv subscription 8 weekās ago
Wish I could trade in all the sports channels for some decent stuff on my satellite TV. Have my down payment for Starlink but may cancel unless some decent cash comes my way to cover the equipment purchase of another $550. No word yet about when I may be up for my Dishy unit.
I havenāt had cable in almost a decade. I stream everything and in general donāt watch a ton of tv. If you know where you can buy a student email address and get a discount on Amazon Prime too which has a decent amount of stuff to watch.
Yeah, Iām the same. I stopped watching TV in 93 when I went off to college, and had only seen it at other peopleās houses until recently when my gf decided she wanted to watch the Thanksgiving Day parade and Dog Show every year.
I do have a TV, and Iāve watched a number of shows via streaming services but never with commercials because I hate them. And I like movies. I like nature documentaries and travel shows, most of which are on Youtube.
News shows are the worst. Except for NPR. Iāve been listening to that on public radio since I was a kid and itās pretty unbiased with no BS, and really exposes you to both good news and bad news, with a solid sprinkling of cultural news to boot. And they never stopped doing the longform interviews with interesting people that were so popular in the 30s and 40s, the kind that modern day podcasters act like they invented. I really appreciate that.
I canāt even listen to CBC anymore. Covid and election fear mongering every hour on the hour. Still some quality content but itās too much.
The other day I was at someone elseās house and we were watching cable tv and I said āif I had to watch tv with commercials like this I wouldnāt watch tv at all.ā
I still watch shows but I do it in a secret commercial free way.
100% I donāt know why everyone doesnāt use SERIOUS ad blocking on their browsers and even their routers and phones. We never see ads on youtube or hulu unless theyāre embedded in the stream.
On a computer, install the free addons: ublock origin, ghostery, and noscript for browsers. Noscript is the most annoying one, but it almost 100% prevents javascript attacks. Use a VPN app for about $30/year if you donāt have a router with OpenVPN built in.
On your phone, root it and install the free app AdAway. The browser addons above also work for everything but Safari.
On your router, install a free 3rd party open source firmware, use its VPN with your favorite providerās server info, and employ its free tools for ad blocking and QoS to help manage streaming across multiple sites and devices.
Never see ads on any device ever again!
Thereās a show I watch through a browser on a&e. It has ads (like every 5 minutes, and itās the same fucking ad over and over and over) and standard ad blocking doesnāt work. Fortunately Mrs Foreigner is a tech genius and she figured it out. Me, Iād probably just stop watching
No Iām not buying a Nissan so fuck off with your noise.

This is in your backyard @Muleskinner
Long and frightening tale of governmental greed and overreachā¦
oops I just realized this is your article under different bannerā¦sorry
what? the police are in my backyard? I better get off the computer
another policy maker showing they do not know what they or doing . they need to allow home grows no plant count. no cap on thc % no taxes on home grown . their no way i am going to pay any way near that insane amount of taxes . they do not tax the vegetables i harvest from my garden .they do not tax the beef calf i harvest / slaughter from my farm .no need to tax cannabis. they or hopeing to get tax money so they can waste the money on stuff we do not want .
Lotta supposition in that article but damn if itās not interesting. I swear Iāve seen fungus gnats (biting / drinking) (cannabis leaves / sessile trichomes), before. Either that or theyāre putting their ass in the air looking for a mate, and it just looks like theyāre biting the leaf.
It was recently recorded in some peer reviewed journal, that bumblebees bite leaves, too.
I spent a good five minutes recently, getting a picture of one doing exactly that.
THC-acetate is just a gimmick. The people I know whoāve tried it arenāt overly impressed, and just like when THCA breaks down it releases co2, when THC-Acetate breaks down it releases acetic acid, so it reeks of vinegar.
It will probably never be a commercial success.
